I am offended we didnt get spammed too :) I guess I better start passing out free stickers. When I had my mx6 the import connection guys were *******s to me. Now I have a 93 rx7 that Im dumping money into left and right and you can bet your ass I remember how I was treated before. If I had to suggest a place to someone other than illstreet I'd have to say Double shot (dont even know if theyre still around). I promise you I wont be there may 10 but I certainly encourage others to explore the various outlets of the automotive world :p

you shouldnt own a shop based on "no i dont have it in stock, but i can order it for you." thats pretty much how they operate. if i want to order a part you dont have in stock, ill look around on the internet and find the cheapest price.

I think import connection sucks....all they have is ricey stuff...indiglo gauges, colored emblems...bobo intakes, etc...nothing of great importance...I'll tell you a good place is "Mean Street" in Greenville....you walk in, and they have body kits hanging from the ceiling, lots of stuff in stock also....I go to import connection every once in a while, but never anything there I want...

Greenville Wheel and Rim is also a good place and its not far from Mean Street. Stop at both if youre up around Greer/Greenville. RaceParts in Boiling Springs is a good place for Ford performance parts. Only thing Ive bought from Elite Audio was some Watter Wetter. The guy at Double Shot got me some hard to find nitrous jets overnighted one thursday from who knows where. I bought some pulleys from The Power Source but thats all he had in stock I could afford. Clements Racing has any braided line, anodized fitting or bolt you could dream of.

I'm going to need some custom SS lines for the clutch stuff. its kind of custom so I dont want to order it with my connections.

yeah import connection def. sucks. mean street is alright but still nothing like we need here. what we need is a shop that serves to everyone...ricers and racers and everything in btwn w/decent prices, good service, and installation if you want it. but of course if somewhere like that popped up they would go out of business like always.

like always??? uh no... Who around here has had a properly equipped dyno? No one. Who around here has the slightest idea how to install a haltech? no one I wouldnt even trust a simple turbo kit to any shop around.

I think if enough of us pulled together, we could get a good business going. I've had an idea for a business for awhile now but I'd have a hard time getting a loan to get it started, my credit rating isn't so good. My idea is a shop to do any and all installs, wheather it be customer bought parts or stuff bought from the business. We could provide performance upgrades from all avenues so we cater to everone. A chassis dyno would pay for itself in no time, from what I've read on other forums, those shops charge like $100/hr. Like Chris said, I don't know anything about Haltach either, but would probably be worth looking into. If I get that far, I'm going Microtech for my car. Next, we would have to have a good location for the shop. When it comes to a business in automotive repair, it's a good idea to specialize in something. I've even thought about working out something to help these ppl with the same type tranny mod I did with my car since I've had couple ppl on the rx7 club board ask me bout it. In case u all don't know, I can do machinist work, which would also help in this business idea. Like Chris mentioned, what we DON'T have around here, is where a GOOD business gets started.
