My JW friends have invited me to their yearly observance of the Lord's Supper. They have a big service this Saturday night. I declined for a couple reasons. I found out from another JW friend that according to JW belief only those who are of the 144,000 elect are to partake of the bread and wine. Everybody else isn't. So, basically you have a Kingdom Hall full of JWs and nobody actually has communion. Supposedly there are a few JWs alive who are of the special 144K and they do have communion. Nuts.
I could go but I would have to tell them that I'm elect and I'm eating their bread and drinking their wine but this would probably piss off/embarass the folks who asked me. If I do this they probably won't ever come back to my house. I'm surprised that neither Tom Green or any of the JackAss stars ever exploited this. This would be funnier than taking a dump in toilet at a hardware store.

What is "elect"? How do they determine who is?
