so i have my laptop and the other PC litterely one wall apart from each other. is there any way(without going with a wireless router) that i can get an ethernet splitter that supplies both PC's with an internet connection?

we've got DSL.

ethernet splitter?

you get a regular router and two ethernet cables, one for each computer.

same concept was a wireless router, minus the wireless.

Save yourself from a headache.... and buy a $20 linksys HUB, not a ROUTER.

Plug your dsl ethernet cable into the "uplink" port... plug both computers into the other slots and that's it.
