Do you like piston or rotary FD better?

Why did you put a LT1 in there? Why not a LS1? WHy?!

hey, whats up, I just came from the 7club too.

ok, so ot answer a few questions...

which FD do i like more? i enjoy driving both and i love the piston FD...but i think i'm partial to it because it was my first one and i've done all the work to it. the rotary is just for driving (right now)...get me from point a to point b and if i'm boosting along the way, then ok...

as for why LT1 and not LS1...mostly because of money. The LT1 is a cheaper engine to build and maintain. I did the swap nearly 2 1/2 yrs ago, so the $1800 for engine and transmission was a better deal than $4000+ for just the engine at the time. Also, after a little while i realized that most people do the LS swaps so my LT1 is a little more rare. And from all that i've seen, the LT naturally makes more torque than horsepower...something the LS motors dont seem to do easily, and this was one thing i wanted...

You can make any engine make more torque then HP, very easily. Just keep the redline below the magic 5252RPM. At that point HP and torque will always be equal, and above that point HP will always be more then torque.

what engine are you refering to? my old LT1 made about 290 ft-lbs all the way up to 6k and my HP didn't break 285...that was on the 350 ci LT1 i had in the car originally

Isn't the LS1 aluminum and a hell lot lighter and stronger compared to the LT1?

Every motor has equal tq/hp at 5252rpm sence hp is just a calculated number. its (tq x rpm) / 5252 iirc.

LS1 is about 100 lbs lighter than the LT1 (from all that i've read)...and define "stronger"

I am reffering to ALL engines.

The calculation is not possable any other way.

You CANNOT have an engine that defies the calculation I explained.

If you're making 290 ft/lb at 6K then you've got aproximately 343HP.

Somone lied to you.

HP = (TQ * RPM) \ 5252

Sorry, missed your post, you're totally correct, it is 5252.

hmm...guess i'll have to get my dyno sheet out and look at it again...see if i can scan it in...i know the car didn't break 300 hp...

Am I the only one wondering why he uses a Rotary as a DD instead of a Piston?!:roll:
