My honest opinion...

Double standards are a bitch. I wasn't even aware that FTC was banned, but i've seen far worse from Zero and Meddle any day of the week.

I don't exactly agree with everything Zero has said, but he does have a point.

My issue is with the racial "attacks" against me in certain threads that have nothing to do with race at all. It irritates me somewhat because i'm not used to it here. Before July '05, there were mostly locals here. Sure it wasn't the move live forum on the net, but it had its days when we had some good times, and we didn't do it with racial slurs and flame wars. Granted, i've gotten used to the ignorant comments, but again, I wasn't used to it, so I felt the need to defend myself when I felt like I was being attacked.

I had a couple of friends visit the site during the whole New Orleans/Racism shit. One of them spoke these exact words were "Is this some kinda white supremacy shit or somethin?" Not that it matters, but he's white, and he was offended by what all was being said. So to say that it doesn't run people away, I beg to differ.

Traffic was up because apparently everyone from the 7 club was here, not outside traffic....

Here's my main beef with your contention, and I should have used this one to begin with: People cannot help but be what they are born as. A black man will be a black man (notable exception being Michael Jackson who, defying all odds, became a white woman) until the day he dies. It is far more sporting to make fun of someone for what they choose to believe.

I don't make fun of women for being women, I don't make Asian penis jokes, I don't make fun of midgets, and I attempt to not make fun of people who are mentally handicapped, though I am guilty of using the term "retard" to describe people who by all rights SHOULD be intelligent but aren't.

I do, however, make fun of Mormons for fucking their cousins. Jehovas witnesses for not celebrating birthdays. Satanists for being, in reality, a bunch of crybaby goths. Christians in general for believing that the Bible is the word of God, rather than the words of the men who wrote it. Buddhists for not eating perfectly good meat.

What, then, is the difference? Simple really: its the same as the debate in this thread. I am making fun of WHAT PEOPLE THINK rather than WHO THEY ARE. You can say "I'm a Christian.", but thats not actually the case. The proper phrasing would be "I think in a Christian manner." Saying that I think that what you think is idiotic, is not the same as saying that you act a certain way because you were born with white skin and blonde hair.
