As many of you know, I have moved to SC so that I can be closer to work, and closer to my car (lol). Yesterday I started changing my address with various entities that I have to do business with. I started with my auto insurance (progressive). They informed me that I could not just change my address, but since I moved into a different state I would have to also buy a new policy. This is fine and I have no desire to change - Progressive has always treated me right, even after I got a ticket. So they put me through to a SC office. They walk through all the steps, and guess what! Just because I moved to SC, my insurance payments just *DOUBLED*! It's the same flippin' policy, just in SC!

Yes, it is SC fault, cuz progressive added it on the last time I renewed my policy. i've asked around and it's apparently the norm for SC to have a bit more expensive insurance. My progressive is still cheaper than everyone I've talked to, but it just amazes me that it can double just cuz of the state.
