I had a BLAST last weekend. The car performed great, I learned a LOT. I'm still in shock about how fast you can actually go through turns.
This was at Roebling Road, if anyone wants to know. I wanted to do a pre-repaving/post-repaving in the same year.

is that a stock msp?
There is nothing to add power or change the handling characteristics of the car....that is, the only "mods" I've done have been a Spec clutch (which actually doesn't grab as hard as stock) and polyurathan front and rear engine mounts (because they where broken). I just put the car back together, the differential split on it and put a new stock one in. So, aside from the Probe wheels, I have almost nothing aftermarket on the car.

you can spot a water balloon from 500ft?
i'd like to run at a track when i buy a hardtop.
how difficult is it to "lose control" as if you were driving a rwd car and spun out ?
as in going around a curve too fast, hitting grass at speed while turning, oversteer, etc

Entering to fast a turn to fast was my only problem.

What I did is actually known as an HPDE, which is fansy NASA term for a driving school. Its right around $300.
That being said, you get an instructor for the weekend and go out in 8x 20-25 minute sessions. They start you off realitively slow and build you up. Then you have classroom sessions in between each track sessions. By the 3rd or 4th time out, you'll be very comfortable with the entry/exit speed your supposed to be at. There is always the risk of going off course, but they teach you how to recover from that, plus, there is PLENTY of run-off at Roebling. The risk of damaging your car is minimal with an instructor helping you out.
How difficult is it to "spin out"? Well, one of the key concepts they teach you is throttle modulation. A friend of mine spun, I went off track...no big deal, get back on and try again.
