So, there i am in my old town driving around having a good time, not driving too stupid BUT i did floor it from a stop sign because traffic was hedic and i was in a rush(safely ofcorse just heavy on the peddel) go down the road and it sounds fine, except the turbo is a little loud but i figure its because i had the windows down(still figure that), then all the sudden i notice my temp gage warning pop on and ding.
I look at the temp and its fucking pinned, i pull over and pop the hood and look on the ground, i see no liquid at all dripping so i dont think i blew my radiator or any pipes or etc, after further inspection i noticed that the radiator fans wernt
spinning.I let it cool down with the hood open (rotary style yo!) and then limped it to this gas station that the owner used to be a Audi/VW specialist but he wasnt there so i left it there with the gas pumper.
What the hell is wrong with this car?

lolz @ wonner
when the hood was open, was it still running? it uses an e-fan so i'm pretty sure it should be running even after the motor shuts down. take out a multimeter and see if the fan's getting power. maybe a loose wire or something.
if it's not suppose to be running after the motor shuts down, then it might be the water pump or tstat.
how many miles?

The guy thinks its the thermostat, but he said when he hooked the computer up to it, he said i had a major boost spike and that was the major cause or some shit.

efan should run even after the car is off on most german vehicles including vws
I'd imagine it is an independent temp switch that controls the efan, a bad fuse, a bad relay or bad wiring
The fans would continute to run with a stuck closed thermostat.
Since I know a lot about every car ever made I am probably right. I don't know why you're asking us though since you are the one that was there and the car is at a gas station and what not but hey, thanks for the thought.

ill give you a total of 10 bucks. orrrrrr....ill give you 5k in monopoly money.
overboosted my 91 LX and the temp guage went to the max (270 degrees). had to end up pulling the heads and replacing the melted / deformed gaskets. didn't leak anything just wouldn't run cool after that happened for some reason. probably not that bad of a problem on your car just a bad fan / waterpump / etc. not sure what boost spike could do to a metal thermostat ???

sounds like this guy u took it to is just guessing cause he really don't know what's wrong. it's really simple to check the fan. start the engine and turn on the a/c. the fan or fans will run constantly with the a/c on. this will rule out the fan itself. a bad or bad connection at the relay will cause the fan to not run when it should, happened on a cavalier we used to have. if the top rad hose is hot, the T-stat is opening.

Blown head gasket.Easy to check if you see oil in radiator or a lot of steam in your exaust. Also the exaust will have a sweet smell that you can taste in your mouth.
