jhammons01 09-05-2006, 07:22 PM That is right, the vert sold Saturday after weeks of having it for sale. so now all the attention is focused on..... http://www.theforumlounge.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1774&stc=1&d=1157502092 Hades12 09-05-2006, 08:07 PM Face man in the house. Terrh 09-05-2006, 11:14 PM lol, c4. I've beent rying to sell my very nice turbovert for like, 3 months now with no luck, and I'm asking below market value for an equal condition n/a vert! wtf. Turbo II 09-05-2006, 11:58 PM Damn what's with everyone selling 'verts!!!! mazdaspeedrex 09-06-2006, 07:53 AM Holy ugly Corvette, Batman! :batman: You had to pick a C4, the worst gen. Corvette there was. That's like spending all of your money on a FB. jhammons01 09-06-2006, 02:05 PM Holy ugly Corvette, Batman! :batman: You had to pick a C4, the worst gen. Corvette there was. That's like spending all of your money on a FB. A) I don't wholly agree with that B) They are the cheapest as well. A Decent C3 is at least 12K and they get more expensive as they get older/Newer. There is nothing wrong with an FB. They can be made to run/handle just like the rest. I liked the C4 from the day it rolled off the assembly line. Of course when this one rolled off the line you may have been in diapers but hey, to each his own. Now understand, The fastest 7 is a match for the slowest corvette. A well tuned TII will beat my Vette. but don't come around here with an N/A which accounts for most of the 7s that are around these days. AND understand that I don't have to Mod anything for the performance that comes stock on this Vette. That is the most attractive thing about it. NO MODS needed. Now let's examine the 84 that I have. It has what is referred to as the "Go Cart" suspension. Simple and effective. You can dial in the supension ver easy with car. The later models were changed. My Vert 7 handled better than my Vette but I haven't been able to do anything to the Vette yet. lastly, I am not saying anything bad about 7s. They are incredible cars and that may be an understatement. I just wanted something different. I haven't had any Detroit muscle since the 80s. So just say.....great car!! good luck!!! Have fun!!! I wouldn't bag on you for whatever choice of car you have, of course (and just for a little dig) I am not jealous of your car................Just kidding, don't get frazzled jhammons01 09-06-2006, 02:07 PM lol, c4. I've beent rying to sell my very nice turbovert for like, 3 months now with no luck, and I'm asking below market value for an equal condition n/a vert! wtf. You'd cry if you heard what I got for my vert.....it was so low. I could have pulled the Motor and got more for it as a replacement long block. meddle 09-06-2006, 04:10 PM 84, no you seriously bought the shittiest vette available. Is that bad boy a 4+3? mazdaspeedrex 09-06-2006, 04:57 PM You can bag on FB's all you want. I do too, I'm owned by one. I'm not bagging on you personally. It is an only my opinion, but I've never liked the looks of the C4 or later Vettes. The C6 is starting to grow on me but for American sports/muscle cars I'm partial to pre-1970's. From working on enough cars I've seen how porrly constructed the C4 was. I'll agree that it can probably beat most n/a 7's, but that doesn't make it a good Corvette. jhammons01 09-06-2006, 07:04 PM 84, no you seriously bought the shittiest vette available. Is that bad boy a 4+3? Yes, it is a 4x3. You do know that on a track situation that 205hp/207ftt is plenty don't you?? The only reason I have a sports car is to drive on the tracks. That Vert was a Rolling chicane for the other drivers. I had to drive with one hand becuase the left hand was pointing to the side the 'other' drivers should pass with. The shittiest vette trumps almost all 7s out of the box. AND if power was an issue......which it is not......a mild bore to a 383 stroker would be all that is needed to flat out bury any import. You need to go to California Speedway just once to know that unless you have serious 4 banger ALL the V8s (even Mustang GTs) are going to leave you behind.... just about where the start/finish line is. Once you realize you have half the straight still ahead of you and your only gear left is overdrive.....you'll be wishing for a V8....any V8. Sure if I was close in the corners I could catch anybody and maybe even pass them......but the first 200 yard straight that came up and enybody I passed would pass me back. The Vette seems to not suffer from this syndrome R281 09-06-2006, 09:02 PM My friend's neighbor had one. He liked it. 150 shot of nitrous made that thing into a monster. :D ComradeGiant 09-06-2006, 09:27 PM My favorite thing about the C4 is how shitty they are out of the box. Makes them awesome when you take a little time with them, a real "WTF" car. Terrh 09-07-2006, 12:12 PM I drove an (auto) C4 that was in apparently pretty nice shape, a stock TII would have kicked the shit out of it. yes, near stock n/a 7's are slow. Vert's especially so. Gotta love those LOOONNNGGg gears. But I have to admit that those long gears are nice once you add some torque! But near-stock v8's are slow too! |
