BATMAN 07-27-2007, 04:35 PM The cars were like cones.
The 3 of us were just leaving the San Jose Gran Prix and still had race fever in us.
The C5 had a passenger. Both were in their 40's.
I was in the front of the pack when a third car, a SL55 jumped from behind the C5 and gunned it. The TQ on that car moved it up to the front really fast.
Then that's where the fun came in.
The C5 passed me before I had time to down shift.
Once I did I was slowly pulling it in when VTEC kicked in. I knew my HP to weight and Cd was really close to the C5 'vert.
But the SL55 was surprising.
I thought he was pulled away like a freight train, but both him and the C5 with stock suspension were having problems negotiating the cars on the freeway like cones.
By the time I was a mile away the traffic had cleared and I was well past 140MPH.
C5 was no where to be seen the SL55 caught up and we gave each other thumbs up and smiled.
BATMAN 07-27-2007, 04:37 PM BTW, earlier in the week I raced some 650C late model bike.
He couldn't pass me after drafting me at 120MPH.
I guess Cd plays against the bike at those speeds.
He did have an advantage being able to weave in and outta traffic.
He slowed down and we gave each other OK signs.
People are pretty playful and friendly when NSX drivers drop the hammer for some fun.
Gabberguy 07-27-2007, 05:08 PM in cop happy california, you could nailed with a huge ticket as well, right?
Just a ticket? Here you would be locking at months in prison... :)

Amusing kill, Bats. Don't know if I should be admiring your follow-through or getting on you about your temporary lapse of sanity. Last I heard about CA, you get heavy fines, jail time and a nicely crushed rectangle for a car doing those kinda stunts.
Nice run, though. I'm starting to realize how cool of a car the NSX can be, especially after a guy at work has been driving his in for the last couple of weeks... :bigthumb:
SpartanTS 07-27-2007, 10:00 PM I killed a C320 the other day in the Jag...does that count? :)
Good Kill though. Considering you're probably the more experienced driver out of the other two, not really hard to see why you got the kill.
If all of a sudden you stop posting, we'll know why with the way you drive on the freeway. I'll go 100, but anything past that feels dangerous, let alone 140 MPH on an imperfect California freeway.
aznpoopy 07-28-2007, 10:49 AM slalom through traffic = fail
i'm glad you won but you should know better. wtf
BATMAN 07-28-2007, 11:10 PM do you have life insurance?
in cop happy california, you could nailed with a huge ticket as well, right?
anyway, nice kill...although it seems hard to believe a dog slow NSX could pull a C5, which has, what, 340 hp?
Yes I have life insurance.
My NSX is making 290HP~
At 3000lbs the power to weight ratio is about 10:1
I would guess that is close to the C5 CONVERTIBLE with the top down (shittier Cd).
What's so hard to believe?
BATMAN 07-28-2007, 11:11 PM ....stay away from FDs, you will get smoked...NSXs make me laugh (unless they are supercharged)
Gee, thanks for the heads up...... I really don't know jack shit about FDs.
wonner 07-29-2007, 01:21 AM Can I ride with you, BATMAN?
BATMAN 07-29-2007, 12:47 PM the relatively small advantage you have in weight over a C5 isn't going to make a hill of beans difference at 100+, and I doubt the Cd is that much better, even if he had the top down
chances are he didn't have it fully floored if you guys were in heavy traffic...C5s are not slow
Trust me. He had it floored. Fuckin rear end was squatting and I can hear his stock exhaust.
