I just totaled up all my mod's on another forum if anyone cares to check it out. I didn't relize that I had done that much to my car, and the scary part is I can think of more that i've done, but didn't list because it wasn't really a "mod"

I wonder if I sat down and totalled up everything i've done to my car, what would it come up to be. I've had to buy more replacement parts than mods., so i doubt it would reach over 1500 total.

Speakin of time, i've spend the last 12 hours putting Win2k and Linux RedHat 9 on my computer. Pain in the ass.

Including the price of the car and performance mods only, I have $18868.24 that I can account for. Thats not including regular maintenance or repair work, or countless other stuff.

whoa i dont have but around 10k in both my stangs together but yours looks much better. my next car is going to be low mileage and charged stock so Im probably going to have a lot in it.

i've had mine for about 5 years or so, and its just recently that I've been spending all this money. Going big single turbo is worth it but, god, it cost an arm and a leg

I will have mine 5 years in June. Didn't start real big until about 3 years ago.

Then why didnt you flame Toxico for including a "stereo" section under his mod list, apparently he thinks theyre mods too. Last time i checked mods were any aftermarket thing added to your car, thats just how i classify it though. And i do plan on entering it in some competitions, but im not worried about winning money, I got it because I liked the equipment and i like music. I really dont give a mother **** what you think about it.

anyway. I have a $400 head unit, infiniti speakers, 1000 watt amp, custom box and 12 in the FD. I'd count those under mods....

I however dont count tires :) If I did allen would have a huge advantage over all of us

Toxico

sound systems can be considered a "mod" but not a preformance enhancing one. If anything they are preformance detracting.

If you total up the amount I spent on my stereo its insermountable to the amount I've spent on the rest of the car. I think it adds weight but it also rounds out the equation of an all around good car. Music can have a great effect on how far I press the gas petal, plus it is also needed to cover up the ****ty rap music that the guys in the cars around me are playing.

ive got 1800 in this latest project

im expecting 2200 when its all said and done, but thats not bad for an extra 90rwhp and 40lbft and the fuel system to support a 150shot on top of that imho

not to mention the lighter components.... front end weight is the devil

i'm not a fan of N2O. i'd only use it for an intercooler sprayer.

how would dry ice do?

Frankin7
02-19-2004, 01:25 PM
you planning on spraying dry ice?

Toxico
02-19-2004, 01:53 PM
i believe he means setting dry ice on top of the intercooler.

I've heard of people using it cool the ic down before a race, but i dont know how effective it would be wile your driving. That stuff is cold but in order to provide even cooling you would have to cover your IC with it, but if you do that the air flow though it would be blocked by the ice.

Frankin7
02-19-2004, 04:03 PM
i've heard of people that literally freeze their intercoolers. those are for drag cars though that sit in the staging lanes between runs.

Cosby
02-20-2004, 02:43 PM
man you dont NEED air to go through it if you have dry ice sitting on top of it...

Toxico
02-20-2004, 06:04 PM
without air it wont be very efficient, the back side of the intercooler will suffer from heat soak after a few runs. Sense no air will pass though the fins only the front surface will be cooled leaving the back to soak up the heat from the engine. The air flowing though will only be half cooled and half heated making for a unhappy mix.
