Tech&Tool 11-04-2005, 08:42 PM OK guys, there are no posted rules against plugging a site, BUT if there are any rules against plugging a site, then let me know politely, and I will not do so. I will however still post my 2 cents worth of expertise when someone has a car problem or question. Here goes nothin. I am a retired Advanced Level Master Technician of 23 years. Just retired this year. I had solved the problem of the cost of my tools by being a tool dealer for the last few years. Now I have launched a website that gives the general public access to all the tools that the professional mechanics use. These are not the drop-n-break variety from fleamarket heaven, these are Real Tools, Brand Names of Top Quality. Also, you can Email me from the site if you have a problem and don't know which tool to use, or even if there is one out there for it. I can and will also give you my experience with car problems becasue many folks just don't know about these machines. Also, give me your opinion on the site, what I can add to make it more friendly, easier to use and the like. Let's confine the comments on the site to constructive comments, not just profane rants. They don't do much good, and they waste space. So give this a click, and post your honest, constructive opinion. www.aktoolsandequipment.com King 11-04-2005, 08:55 PM SSPPPPPPPPPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMm fuck off. $100T2 11-04-2005, 08:56 PM I'm gonna let this thread slide for now, but if all I see is spamming of your tool site, it's gone, and so are you. Welcome to the forum. Tech&Tool 11-04-2005, 08:58 PM Well now, that sure is constructive. It's not spam when all is disclosed up front, and when visiting the site is Voluntary. There is no auto-link sending everyone to the site, just an open honest request to do so. I didn't say you had to buy anything either, you can just ask questions about cars. King is about to make you his bitch.Don't think you will last past Tuesday. Tech&Tool 11-04-2005, 09:50 PM From my experience, a thread is usually good for about 5 days, then most people move on to more recent posts. So, after 4 days, I'll just check this thread once a day. Cosby 11-04-2005, 10:00 PM you could just subscribe to the thread Anyway... Your colors are really hard on the eyes. The green on the right is pretty ugly as well as the purple at the bottom. The categories on the left are a little hard to read and you could use some mod_rewrite to optimize the site a bit. Pretty much all of your images are dead in the product listings. Also, it looks like you have an open tag at the top of each page '>' Tech&Tool 11-04-2005, 10:03 PM Thanks, colors & images. A mod_rewrite? and what is an "open tag"? Cosby 11-04-2005, 10:06 PM mod_rewrite you can do a search on. Notice most of the addresses don't have the queries on the end. ie. address.com/catalog.php?crap=dookie&size=giant . The open tag can be found by search for '>' on the main page (control f). Tech&Tool 11-04-2005, 10:13 PM ok, thanks a bunch. I'm gonna work on the rewrite and the open link, but not t'nite. Kids get up at 6:30AM rodney87 11-04-2005, 10:29 PM How Many L1 Master Techs will give out advice? Give me a few years :bigthumb: I liked the site, easy to use and find what you need. Do you give the student discount only in "bulk" buys or can we buy as we need? Also, have any cordless electric impact wrenches? Oh say, that will remove a 300ft pound nut? Tech&Tool 11-04-2005, 11:00 PM Rodney87, I'll PM you on those questions, thanks for the critique on the site. 91lx 11-05-2005, 01:09 AM a cordless electric impact would be ideal for me as long as it had some balls. the only time I use one is swapping on and off tires at the drag strip but still a pita to break out the old 4-way takes forever. usually just throw a 4-way, aluminum jack and drag tires in the trunk. King 11-05-2005, 01:13 AM A tool, selling tools, to tools... Awesome. Cosby 11-05-2005, 01:21 AM 300 ft lbs won't take off a flywheel nut if thats what youre thinking 91lx 11-05-2005, 01:54 AM 300 ft lbs won't take off a flywheel nut if thats what youre thinking yeah you have to get a big enough wrench... then get me to jump on it. $100T2 11-05-2005, 08:00 AM How Many L1 Master Techs will give out advice? I sense a rotary test coming. Hope you studied. Tech&Tool 11-05-2005, 12:30 PM Rotary test? Hmmm, for all my years fix'n cars & trucks, I have worked on few rotaries. Usually the owners are very Dealer Loyal, and hesitate to go aftermarket. BUT, they do utilize the same basic principles that all other engines do. After all, an offset weinkel engine is still a four stroke, compression engine. It may have dual injectors and dual plugs, but that's nothing to be afraid of. I will say, that I may not be on this forum tonight or tomorrow, I'll be really busy. So if you post a question today, I may not view it untill Monday night. Feel free to Email me through the site though. I do check that 5 or 6 times a day. $100T2 11-05-2005, 12:37 PM Usually the owners are very Dealer Loyal, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :rofl: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA and hesitate to go aftermarket.
