deja vu...

meanwhile, you can learn basic mandarin or cantonese fairly quickly - enough to ask for food and medical help, anyhow.

The Mandarin Chinese for FISH is YUE
Imagine you fish every day.

The Mandarin Chinese for MEAT is ROW
Imagine you display lumps of meat in a row.

The Mandarin Chinese for WATER is SHOOAY
Imagine you pour water in your shoe,* eh!

The Mandarin Chinese for BREAD is MEE-EN BOW
Imagine you do a mean bow for a piece of bread.

The Mandarin Chinese for RICE is MEE
Imagine rice and me don't agree.

The Mandarin Chinese for TEA is CHA
Imagine you don't charge for tea.
