It took me two days of clicking to try to get my name in the pool
This is worse than the lottery. At least the Lotto is confined to your state or group of states.
This damn thing is worldwide and in only ~30 hours 20million names have been registered.

Alex-7 09-13-2007, 04:27 PM It'll be a big let down if you get 'em.
jhammons01 09-13-2007, 04:29 PM Why do you say that?
Alex-7 09-13-2007, 04:33 PM Well, I guess you never know.
But I'm usually pretty disappointed when I go see ageing rock bands.
2ndGen.Rocket 09-13-2007, 04:38 PM Unfortunately I don't think I would be able to get a passport before the show, even if I could get tickets. Would be well worth it though, Zeppelin is probably the only band that I would love to see play one more show.
jhammons01 09-13-2007, 04:40 PM I saw them in '78 with a "found" ticket.
jhammons01 09-13-2007, 04:41 PM But I'm usually pretty disappointed when I go see ageing rock bands.
I don't know, that Cream reunion DVD is pretty neat.
Heaven and Hell seem to be doing OK.
Herschel 09-13-2007, 04:42 PM You can actually get your passport in one day, but you have to pay out the ass to do it. I already had a passport, but I had let it expire and it cost me IIRC $180 to get it overnight. I can't remember exactly, but I think it's more expensive if you didn't already have one.
2ndGen.Rocket 09-13-2007, 05:01 PM Wall Street Journal just had an article about how the expedited passport deal is still taking well over a month
Herschel 09-13-2007, 05:16 PM I can only speak from personal experience. I sent my old passport off by fed ex and I got my new one the next afternoon. Normally I would have just waited whatever amount of time was normal (I think it's like 2 months thru the post office), but I had to leave quickly (needed my passport in less than 3 days) so I went to http://www.passportexpress.com/ and did the urgent service. As a side note, I just noticed that they changed it up a bit. The urgent service used to say overnight, but I guess with GWB pissin' everyone off they are trying to slow down the process a bit. Still though, 1-10 buisness days is pretty fast considering that it is the government that you're dealing with......
Supper 09-13-2007, 06:23 PM The problem I see with Passport Express you have to provide an itinerary to prove you have to have it in time.
wotnartd 09-13-2007, 10:09 PM Unfortunately I don't think I would be able to get a passport before the show, even if I could get tickets. Would be well worth it though, Zeppelin is probably the only band that I would love to see play one more show.
One word: Pink Floyd
2ndGen.Rocket 09-13-2007, 10:17 PM agreed
these ancient bands with no new material need to know when to hang it up and stay out of the public eye...sentimental fools go to these shows
Not Zeppelin. People have wanted a concert like this since the band split over 20 years ago. This has been long awaited. Not to mention they are probably one of the most, if not the most important band in the history of rock and roll. This isn't Styx getting back together.
wotnartd 09-13-2007, 10:22 PM that's two words
The hyphen is invisible. Don't make me crack your hip old man.
I'd travel to Britain to see Floyd in concert with my dad. I'd travel anywhere, if I could get tickets. Floyd is a state of mind. Floyd is... Floyd.
wotnartd 09-13-2007, 11:31 PM Pink Floyd is hyphenated? since when?
Start asking more questions if you want me to back over you. *glares*
Queen 09-13-2007, 11:44 PM lmao
Cosby 09-14-2007, 10:54 AM One word: Pink Floyd
That's what I was thinking when whoever said "aged" rock bands suck. They're still good as hell.
wotnartd 09-14-2007, 01:41 PM That's what I was thinking when whoever said "aged" rock bands suck. They're still good as hell.
I popped a chub when I watched their Live 8 performance, you know, when the whole band was back together (except for Syd Barrett). Just... wow.
jhammons01 09-14-2007, 06:03 PM Again, The Cream reunion DVD is excellent. Anyone not checking it out is missing something.
And who is the #1 concert filling band?????
The Rolling Stones.
2ndGen.Rocket 09-15-2007, 06:57 PM Ah, The Stones wrote some classic and monumental rock songs back in the day. Exile on Main Street is one of my favorite rock albums, and I think that they did a lot for music, more than most at least. I do agree that they should have hung it up a long time ago, I haven't liked anything new they have come out with, and they are too old to be touring. It's more sad than anything. Skynyrd should have hung it up a while ago too. I appreciate bands more that staked their claim in history, contributed something worthwhile and memorable, and then ended it.
jhammons01 09-16-2007, 12:29 AM the Stones are the most overrated band ever....aside from the Beatles
c'mon man. Once again you find yourself at odds with society.
Watch this

Overrated??
Of course in your mind you've already answered yes........
Before you allow your lips to form the word yes.........Try to find out how many other artists have covered this little Diddy. Then say they are overrated again.
jhammons01 09-16-2007, 01:03 AM It just baffles me to hear something like that coming out of a seemingly intelligent person.
Talent has nothing to do with popularity........hmmmm
I guess that is why no talent people are filling concert halls across the World.
That makes perfect sense.....it does......it really does....
The Shaggs are filling concert halls as we speak. (youtube "The Shaggs")
jhammons01 09-16-2007, 01:16 AM Sorry, wrong again, The two Stones guitarist are some of the most accomplished guitarist ever.
I don't know who you have been listening to but it is not the Same Rolling Stones that the rest of America has been listening to.
Honestly, how could even think that?? Some of the best riffs ever have come from the stones, yet they quietly just sit back and play music.....ever hear Keith Richards throw a Diva fit??? EVER??? no, the man just does his job and goes home year after year.
I mean honestly, Have you ever heard anything from Ron Wood or Keith Richards that was anything but the sound of a guitar? Yet they are the biggest concert draw in all of 2005 and 2006 worldwide..........yet they just play the guitar and go home.
jhammons01 09-16-2007, 01:22 AM Honestly, I'm done with you.
You say the Rolling Stones are over rated and then bring out some shit called "Honeymoon Suite" as if they are "under" rated sshhheeeeesssshh
YZF, just do yourself a favor and try not to be so "cutting edge" and "trendy"
It only goes so far and then you are touting Rush latest efforts as great music and blasting their really big hits as Bubble gum pop music.
Yea, your so cool....

LOL, I wonder why he was BANNED. Never mess with the Zep.
jhammons01 09-16-2007, 01:04 PM Did he really get banned?
wotnartd 09-16-2007, 02:18 PM Dude, Kev.... seriously?
Manntis 09-16-2007, 04:08 PM Yes, he was banned and no, not for dissing Zeppelin
jhammons01 09-16-2007, 04:12 PM Yes, he was banned and no, not for dissing Zeppelin

Loosen those lips and start talking
Herschel 09-16-2007, 04:19 PM He gives them a multitude of reasons every fucking day, does it really matter which one?
wotnartd 09-17-2007, 06:43 AM Yes, he was banned and no, not for dissing Zeppelin
I thought the finger waving thing was a little beyond necessary.
Herschel 09-17-2007, 08:20 AM I think Marky is a little beyond necessary.

jhammons01 09-17-2007, 05:24 PM but Britney's half-assed attempt at entertainment was far more amusing to me than that shit
It was all very related and very entertaining.....but not for the reasons Britney intended.
