Cosby 11-09-2008, 06:32 PM Anybody know a cheap, reliable flashlight attachment that will fit the pt145? 1revnrex 11-09-2008, 07:08 PM Depends on your definition of "cheap". http://www.fundeals4u.com/product_p/rsintx2.htm&Click=532 Cosby 11-10-2008, 05:23 PM Thats for sure not cheap skydivr7673 11-11-2008, 01:06 AM that has a picatinny rail on it, you have a lot of options there--but you need to be realistic about price. Youre talking about gun accessories--the one that rex linked is actually pretty inexpensive as far as these go. I use Gall's a lot, and their prices are typically good--and they have weapon lights ranging from about that price up to over $300 for a light/laser combo. Personally, I dont like the idea of putting a light on your gun. Even for law enforcement, there's something bad to be said about something that advertises your position so much as a bright light showing the bad guy right where you are. It's like tracer rounds--it works both ways. in the dark, all youre really doing with one of these is making it so that the bad guy has an advantage--he can plainly see your position--while he doesnt have to show himself to find you. Thats why I keep a laser on my home gun--it doesnt get clicked on unless I am aiming at the subject, so even if he sees it, he's also looking at the muzzle at the same time. That severely limits his options, at least in theory EDIT--if all else fails, check ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/LIGHT-FOR-GLOCK-17-20-21-22-31-37-FLASHLIGHT-9MM-40-45_W0QQitemZ300266399652QQihZ020QQcategoryZ36258QQ cmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262 Not bad for under $30....and from the dimensions, it should fit. the problem you may run into is finding a holster that will accomodate the light. It isnt a Glock, so we taurus owners have a harder time finding some of the better accessories like holsters. I actually had to go with a generic holster for a while with my 24/7 .40/laser sight combo because I couldnt find anything else to fit it. 1revnrex 11-12-2008, 08:32 AM I agree with sky about the lights, they are good for one thing: entry. Boot someones door in and shine it in someones face to disorient them. I do have a laser and pressure switch that I would sell ya for 20 shipped if ya want it though. Small aluminum bracket that fits a picatinny, the pressure switch wire is kinda long though because I purchased it for a rifle but it has a push button on/off on the back of the laser that you could use seeing as it would be going on a pistol. Supper 11-12-2008, 10:40 PM there's something bad to be said about something that advertises your position Thats a training issue, not an equipment issue. An ND with the weaponlight is just as bad, if not worse, then an ND with the firearm. |
