rodney87 09-15-2006, 10:25 PM I'm gonna hit up the bank and see what they have to say but I figured I'd see if you guys had any prior info I might find helpfull. I've got 10,000 I'm not using at the moment and while I get %1.8 interest in my saveings account I figure I could do better. I heard about some money CD's getting like %10 but I dont know how much I need to put in and how long its gotta stay there etc. I really dont know anything about this so any info you guys have would be helpfull. Any other Idea's you guys have would also help :bigthumb: R281 09-15-2006, 10:28 PM There are different kinds of CDs with different time length requirements and interest rates. 1.8% is pretty shitty. I think an Orange savings account yields 4%. edit: It yields 4.40% R281 09-15-2006, 10:29 PM Here's their website if you're interested after you get a CD. http://www.ingdirect.com/osa_google/ rodney87 09-15-2006, 10:38 PM 1.8 is from a small little local bank but its pretty damn good for around here. I went there because they had a 5% deal for 2 weeks but I just missed it, turned out pretty damn good though, I love this bank. Every time I walk in I get greeted and they all know my name, I had someone steal my checkbook a few years ago and when they went to the bank to cash a check the girl behind the counter told her to scram cause she know's I dont write many checks, and none for $300 :) R281 09-15-2006, 10:43 PM 1.8 is from a small little local bank but its pretty damn good for around here. Keep your checking account with them, but look elsewhere for savings. ---just trying to help you out. rodney87 09-15-2006, 10:46 PM Its cool, I'm just trying to find a way to make the most money with my money :) rtryb2200 09-15-2006, 10:53 PM depends on what you want to do with this money, save it for the long haul? If so start a Roth. rodney87 09-15-2006, 10:57 PM Roth? *financial newb* R281 09-15-2006, 10:58 PM Ira |
