Second time already. Lost ALL my valuable bookmarks. I have no idea how it happened but i decided to restart my computer and next thing i know... Firefox was completely reseted.

edit: Look at my applications folder for mozilla and found my list of bookmarks. Well, 1/5 of them are links (mostly old ones) and the 4/5 of them are the names i used for each bookmark. How the hell do i get the links instead of the name?!

Keep a backup. That's the easiest way to keep shit like that from happening. I have a HD in a bubble-wrap thingy in a fireproof safe with a current (about 2 weeks ago) backup of my entire laptop.

srsly tho... the bookmarks file is just HTML. It's called "bookmarks.html" and is kept in the user profile. Keep a backup of that (I keep mine on my keydrive, i can open that html file on any machine and have access to all my bookmarks).

The cool thing about Firefox and Thunderbird is lost stuff can usually be refound. Chances are the link library to that folder got corrupted somehow.

FF and TB are the shiznit, though. Easily customizable with extensions, fewer problems with popups, phishing, etc. IE 7 claims to have all these features too, but IE7 is fugly, the controls are scattered all over non-intuitively, and my ISP won't support it.

I need to find an external HD for cheap soon. My current HD is crapped out on me twice and gets the blue screen every now and then. I'm sure all my other overclocked hardwares are safe since i've testes on them for hours straight. POS Western Digital.

You don't need to buy an external drive, make one. Get a huge internal drive and buy a case for it, can be much much cheaper.

:werd:

I just ordered three external HDD enclosures and a couple more HD's to put into them. Boosts me well above the 1TB mark in my dorm room.
