I know that I don't have to worry about my home until late 2007......it's work related so I don't need money saved towards a home cuz I'll be working more by then. So, I decided to save 15% of my paycheck, to go solely for the 7, in a separate account ( the other 85% will go to rent/bills and the rest to a regular checking account.....but i'm not the only income so we'll have a bit more left over :) )

I decided to create a list of all the bullshit I want to buy for my car with prices....(mind you prices may change due to "free shipping specials" ending)
and I'll slowly knock each of them on and post pics of install and whatever.

The History:

It all began in HS.........My fiancee (we're HS sweethearts..Joke all you want but i've never been happier nor have I ever met anyone as cool and as great as her) and I we're cruising around during lunch and I told her I had saved enough for a car of my own and my parent's had no say in it( my parents wanted to give me the 90 corolla....i wanted nothing to do with that car) .

We're used to seeing cars for sale on the streets so we're looking as we cruise around...........then she sees a little red car on the other side of the street and she says look at that one!! We get to the next intersection and make a U-turn and drive by this lil red car......I look at it and tell he I can't afford it (only had 2500).......looks too nice and expensive.....and I keep driving. She tells me to go back and check it out again.....I can never say no to her.....we get to the car again and she says "let's stop....just to see."

All I knew about it was that it was an RX-7 and a GXL..........nothing more.......I call the guy and he gives me all the details and I set up an appointment to go test drive it. I couldn't wait!!! We arrive at the guy's house and after some conversation about the car and it's condition he said "you wanna drive it?" I said "sure" in disbelief ( i've only driven a 90 corolla by this point and it seemed to top out at 70 or 75) and then he said "nono You go with him" to my fiancee......well that day we popped our rotary cherries........I pull out of the driveway and almost stall from the nerves and the stiffer clutch........then I slowly speed up to the speed limit......We make the U-turn and I speed up to the speed limit a tad faster......we make the next u-turn to go back to the house and I speed up a tad faster!( in case you're wondering it was in the middle of a long block)......I get out and I can't leave without it.........I just had to convince him to dropp 400 bux off the asking price....after a bit of haggling i walked away 2500 bux poor but rotary rich!! I was the proud owner of a 1988 GXL.

I look around it, looks nice, nice angular, yet sexy but still beastly about it......the more i looked the MORE I wanted it....and I jotted the number down and we left....... ever since that day I've had those 8 letters and dash imprinted in my brain ( see avatar).



Sadly this story ends rather quick...........I lost it to a head-on collission with a drunk driver 2 weeks later.......fucked up my back and I couldn't play baseball anymore.......at least I lived....

I got a lawyer.......he actually lent me 2500 cuz he'd subtract it from the final settlement......

It has to be in the stars...........right next door from my lawyer's office.......a 90 GTU......for sale!!! 2500!!!! I was hooked......and I bought it without hesitating.

I mobbed around in that thing for a long time........did stupid ass shit, and this is where i began modifying an rx-7. It began with your basic mods but I stopped wasting money on that car........it was pointless.........I couldn't keep up........my friend's we're driving 300ZXTT, VR4, AWD DSM.......I needed a turbo.........

as time passed I realized i beat my GTU too much and didn't take care of it........I broke something...........i replaced the clutch but the throwout bearings lasted 3 days......800 bux later I gave up.........luckily I had money from the accident......so I bought a 1990 TII.......My first boosted car.

I paid quite a bit of money but it was all worth it..........I loved every second of it.......little did I know I was ripped off......the asshole sold it to me with BLOWN coolant seals.......I knew nothing about the rotary engine and I was lost........lucky for me....i guess.......I found a local Mazda guy that did a lot of engine work.......sigh.........I traded in my GTU for 500 bux ( if I knew then what i know now!!) and dropped a total of 4K for a Mazda remanufactured motor......I almost got the ported turbo but had run out of cash.....

A week or two later......I drove like a grandma......break-in period.......once THAT was over it was one hell of a ride........holy smokes!!!

I loved that car.....it was my baby.......i will never own another car like that one ( my GTUs will be cool.....but it will never be the same)

Happened Dec. 2002........I had recently been invited to go to the new Mazda Raceway for the RX-8 unveiling/ Rotary history crap in 2003 and I was excited!!

Short story:
I was driving home late at night and some idiot, ricer, dorifto fag was in his "racing line" aka MY LANE!!!! I swerved to the LEFT in the middle of a right curve.......close your eyes and imagine how hard it was for me to correct THAT!! I knew it was over once I got into mud........THUD!!!!!!

I come to and shit is hitting my head.......I love the cold and to this day drive with windows open......and at that time with my sunroof open and the impact made some shit fall off the tree I hit..........i sat in my car, dazed, lost, no phone signal, and my car wouldn't turn on.

the fucker never stopped........in fact, the next 5 people that passed by didn't stop.....they slowed down....saw me in the car(or didn't) and never stopped......ONE GENTLEMAN stopped and asked me if I was ok........I was freezing and sore as hell........I got a ride from him to stay warm........we got to his house, he got me a jacket and gloves and put a chain in his Benz.........we got to the car and he pulled it off the tree with his old 80's benz!!!

"you need to kiss that tree young man......it saved your life." That's when I realized......it was the only tree on the side of the road........on the other side of the impact: 30-40 foot drop........ I didn't hesitate.....I kissed that tree and still do it whenever I drive by......

I removed my electronics and all removable parts to avoid theft ( I found out later ON ANOTHER BOARD that this asshole was gonna steal my rims but his lock didn't work.) and had it towed to my THEN friend's house while i try to figure out what to do next........the words I heard next depressed me: "sorry sir, there is nothing we can do.....it's not a hit-and-run.......thank you for using AAA and hope to do business with you in the future."

rock, sand, door dings, dents and otherwise normal damage due to driving will HAVE to be repaired........so I would rather spend $500 bux every 3-4 years and have my car looking clean all the time rather than spending 2-3K for a paintjob that WILL get damaged just the same......

Cousin's K20A swapped DC2 Integra GS-R has a Razo RA66A Shift Knob with 400g weight (you can probably kill someone if you threw it at their head). Aluminum and real CF construction. He had a MOMO Competition before he switched tot he Razo. And yes i got to try them both out in a parking lot. You feel more in command of the gear changes with the Razo since it feels like it throws itself into which ever gear you select. Kind of like reaching into the gear box and flicked which ever gear with your fingers.

Valves allow air into the motor, rockers sit between the cam and the valves/spring assembly and move the assembly up and down to allow air either in or out, retainers hold the valves together with the springs so that the valves will shut when the cam lobe isnt holding them open. Rods are the connecting piece for the crank(think eccentric shaft only bigger) and pistons(think thing that every rotorhead hates).


I am shooting more or less for about 1k at the flywheel so it should be in the ballpark of 900 at the wheels(mine puts power through all 4), while retaining all comforts such as sound deadening, AC, PS, PB, Heater, Stereo, and the other crap. Just trying to put it together to surprise some lower end poopras on the streets.

that was out of a NA motor correct? Mine is going to be a 2.3L single turbo set up, but my setup will not be together until sometime around august.

Mazda 26B rotary (4-rotor) Displacement: 654cc x 4 = 2616cc (159.64 cubic inches) Maximum Power: 600+ hp at 8500 rpm there was a 100 HP increase for the 1991 787B race car......i believe is was NA....but not 100% sure

I set my timing, washed and tightened some bolts among other things today....too bad my multimeter ran out of batteries so no TPS (must remember to turn off the MM after use).....None of this would be possible without MY friend and his shop....Quality Auto tune on Dana.....

I love how you can't see the FMIC.........can you guys tell the hood is blue? My friend HAD a TII hood on this GTUs but he took it and put it on his vert and I got his vert hood.......I like the NA hood better anyways.....I just wish it was black......I'll end up repairing the damaged sections of fiberglass and touch up the paint and mayybe wax it for the first time EVER.

those wheels are on the very heavy side for those sizes

16x8 wheels should be in the 14-15 lb. range
for instance:

volk te37 13.3lbs. awesome wheels. expensive.
enkei rpf1 14.9lbs. good wheels for the money.
FD3S stockers 13.8lbs! quite a steal consider how cheap they are.

I thought they were pretty light......................I was surprised at the weight when i pulled one off to work on the bumper......I don't think anyone wants my rims and I won't buy any until i get rid of these....i don't want a rim collection.....

Batty: i won't powder coat the manifolds and other engine parts unless I have to pull the motor for a rebuild....I won't be doing any exterior work until I am done with everything else so I don't see it happening any time soon.

quality lightweight wheels like volk should be fine, especially in a 16" diameter with a decent sidewall. they got some fancy shmancy casting/forging techniques that result in a light wheel with sound structural strength.

even budget 5zigens are decent. if they do crack, the lip face tends to break off - but the wheel remains intact and it still holds air... so you won't fly off the track and die.

crappy lightweight wheels (like rota) are bad. price is usually a dead giveaway.

i hear FD wheels are brittle, but people have been rolling around on them for 10+ years at this point. so my guess is they are fine.
