Marijuana Found Growing in Downtown LaPorte, Indiana Sidewalk Planter

Nobody noticed until an anonymous caller pointed it out to police -- a three-foot tall marijuana plant growing in a brick planter on a sidewalk in downtown LaPorte, Indiana.
An officer pulled out the plant Monday night, took it to the police station and destroyed it.
The police chief suspects someone planted the marijuana on purpose, but he has no idea who might have done it.
There are 130 decorative planters scattered around downtown LaPorte, about 25 miles west of South Bend. They're maintained by volunteers from the local Business Improvement District.
District president Dave Sanderson says he's not surprised that nobody noticed the marijuana. He says he wouldn't know a marijuana plant from a dandelion.

In other news, the donut shop near the station posted a 400% increase in business, due to "the munchies".

I go to Virginia Tech, and there was this huge bust where an entire apartment was being used to grow marijuana. I heard about the news and the next day I went outside my apartment to smell weed. I figured it was probably the neighbors, but as I drove to campus (about 3 miles) it seemed like the smell was all over town. I was confused because I thought maybe it was just me that smelled like it but I knew that wasn't possible. Turns out they burned the entire stash at the police station by campus and I smelled it all the way out at my apartment 3 miles away. must have been a shitload of weed, lol
