Whatever you may feel for his moderating style or for the Klub is irrelevant: The rotary community lost somebody who truly loved our cars, and he will be missed.

Get disrespectful or shitty, enjoy your 7 day ban... Or, as he would have said, "Play well."

Please, everyone, take a moment to remember him and what he has done here on the club. He was an important part of our community here and was always there to help all of us.

The funeral services will be held at 6:30PM on Sat, April 11th at the Charles Schultz museum in Santa Rosa, CA.

2301 Hardies Lane, Santa Rosa, California 95403

Any and all are welcome. His wife Devin would really appreciate if as many of you guys can make it out.

I will do my best to put anyone up that decides to come out for the service. There are 3 open homes including my own for those that make the trip.

Rest in Peace, Mark. You will be missed.

I didn't like him but as mentioned that's beside the point. I wonder what happened?

RIP. Regardless, it's a sad day for the community.

Why did he die in his sleep? Terminal illness?

How ironic, I was just talking about how I used to mess with him years ago... hadn't mentioned or thought of it in 3 or 4 years probably.

and yes... he was a good moderator as tofuball pointed out in the other thread, but I did like to mess with him. :)

I'm assuming it was stroke/heart attack, but I don't think there are any details.

IIRC he had a toddler when I used to mess with him... can't be too old now... sad...

http://www.mazdamark.com/ he used to have a bunch of life info on there, looks like it's gone now.

He was very dedicated to obtaining the knowledge he needed to be helpful to the RX-7 community - far more information then he would ever need for his own 7. He was also a fair moderator, having overwhelming patience for even the dumbest of us. I don't think we'll ever really know how many poor college kids he got back on the road, but I know I for one really appreciate his contribution, all that is good about 7 club would not be anything like it is today if it were not for his dedication to us.

There are no details, and as far as I know, he had no major health issues. I'm thinking along the lines of sleep apnea.

I thought he just had a daughter, she's like 16 now. He may have another child he didn't mention.

As far as I am aware, no further information has been put out regarding the exact details surrounding his passing.

He was 45 years old, and he died peacefully in his sleep. Out of respect for his family no further details are being released until they give the go ahead, when they do Nader (FunkSpectrum) will pass them along.

I never met him, nor did I really have any interaction with him (being an FD guy), but it's still a sad event for the community.

Fenda, I sent you and DAK invites, but you probably ignore them.

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=68429073476

I wrote this on the page, and I'll copy pasta it here.

"I was thinking today about the passing. It's not that I lost a friend, I hardly knew him. It's that our community, as a whole, lost a friend and a mentor. And for that I will mourn. For those that will never know how great a man he was, I will mourn. For his friends and family, I will mourn.

In this time of tremendous sadness, we have a slight glimmer of light. His words. The things he has told all of us, are etched in the pages of the world wide web. The things he said, will never be forgotten. No, he won't be in a book, but we'll still have his posts to pass on. So that even now that he is gone his words will continue to be heard by members new and old.

Play well."
