IIRC ford has used 2 mass-air-meter harness connectors throughout most of their FI vehicles, a 4 pin, and a 6 pin.
I'm considering an intake that requires the MAM to be relocated further away than the stock cable allows... and they send "top quality connectors and wire"... what i'm picturing is some half-assed wire-nut/generic wire job.
Does anyone know of a retailer or specialty site that makes the extension harnesses?
Thanks car people<3

You have an Explorer right? If so, i'd check here:

I upgraded--expedition... but I bet those guys over there do know... great tech support base on that site.
I've been spoiled with the club for rx7s and that for explorers... not really any good expedition/f-series forums that are as big.

I wouldn't mind having something bigger, but I think i'm going to find a V8 3rd Gen Explorer Limited or EB by the end of the year.
There's plenty of potential for the 5.4, that's for sure.

Yeah I had owned 3 2nd gen explorers... about the same size as the third gen explorers. I really love the 1st gen expeditions (better than the 2nd) and always have. It's got much more room and everything is just made better than the 2nd gen explorers. The third gen explorers like you have... yeah, those were made pretty thorough.
I like this better than my FD honestly... It is the EB, 4x4, 3rd row seat, tow package, every option you can think of, 5.4, etc. A little more expensive for gas, but I'd have to say it's worth it. I'll post some pics when I post pics of the tuner/catback/intake install. I got the tuner in and it was defective... replacement is supposed to be here monday. Catback should be in next week... haven't fully decided on an intake. Either k&n or jlttruecoldair.com (check this shit out, LT1 style, s&b filter, pretty pimp except you have cut the MAM harness which is what this thread is about.)
I'm getting 15.5 mpg stock (highway/city combined) except for synthetic fluids in the differentials, transfer case, and transmission... which does help. I got 16mpg all highway going 70 at the slowest. I'm looking for 17-18 mpg out of the above mods.... it MAY pull it.
If that doesn't do it.... powerdyne time. just kidding...
