Katana200sx 03-02-2003, 02:58 PM the lunspeed members are trying to get a big group of people to head down to atlanta dragway on april 4th. everyone is welcome imports and domestics. preliminary meet time is 4pm somewhere on laurens road. u said u wanted some ideas for meets chris..so i thought id post this here. i might not be able to go though bc the following weekend we are going down for fun ford weekend..but more than likely ill be there. for any more info check out the lunspeed forum. 91lx 03-02-2003, 03:55 PM ill most likely be there. we headed there last friday and ruined a clutch. if we have another problem im gonna tow the cars. BlueCalx 03-02-2003, 06:50 PM i'll probably go too.. we need to leave g-ville no later than about 4:30ish - maybe 4:45 if we want to get more than 3 runs in each. stupid tech line was RETARDED out there on Friday night. retarded as crap and 1/2 mile long. Cosby 03-02-2003, 06:59 PM tech? hmmmm... Katana200sx 03-02-2003, 07:14 PM last time i went we got there about 5 or 530 i think and were pretty close to the front of the line. all tech did was look to see if your battery was secure...least when i went. i honestly think we should make the meet time about 330 so we could leave by 4 or 415 bc u know some people will be running late. BlueCalx 03-02-2003, 08:40 PM well.. tech has changed a LOT since you (and I) were there last... if you're racing, they make you give proof that you're 18, and make you wear this flourescent yellow wristband thing. They also ask what time you think you'll run and if it's quicker than 13.99, then you HAVE to have a snell 90 approved helmet. They actually looked at mine.. They asked what mods I had to the car as well.. The guy said they had to do all this new crap because insurance has really been "sticking" it to them. The tech line was long. VERY long.. that's what i was saying. ugghh.. what a pain if you get there late. Rob Texas89LX 03-02-2003, 08:53 PM but with that long line and me getting there early i got 5 runs in 27 mins, and prolly couldve gotten 9 or so in the first hour Katana200sx 03-02-2003, 09:00 PM well i dont have to worry about running that time....but why does it have to be a snell 90 helmet? i know auto-x's require those but dont the dot approved helmets work just as well?grrr BlueCalx 03-02-2003, 09:59 PM don't know about why the snell 90 helmet must be used, but i told them i was with some people and one of them had one, and i'd borrow it. ;) turns out if you just have one on when you drive by the guy to get your slip, he's not gonna check it. and as for what ken said about getting a lot of runs - you can get a lot real quick if you get there pretty early. we got there about 25 minutes before they opened.
