Ok,
So i'm fed up with the parking situation at the college and have wanted a bike for the last year or so, but my ex was hampering my plans to get one. Now that I'm free again I'm looking at bikes.
This would be my first bike, period. Never ridden a dirt bike or anything so this will be my "get yer feet wet" bike. I've been told not to get something too small or else I will get bored with it very quickly.
SO, here are what I have narrowed it down to, if you have more suggestions, post em up. And I do have a budget, so lets keep that in mind too.
1. Suzuki SV650S
2. Yamaha FZ6
3. Kawasaki 650R
4. Suzuki GS500F
5. Kawasaki ZX6
These are listed in no particular order.

I've actually been thinking of getting a bike, but I like the old mid/late 80's honda shadows. I dunno why i just liked stuff from the 80's. As for riders and other traffic, I'm normally not the nicest driver but I give bikes plenty of room and I don't care if people are pissed that I do that. I don't want some person on a bike to die b/c shit got outta hand and I couldn't stop/react in time. Personally I think I'm a very good driver but everyone makes mistakes I just do what I can to make sure I don't make one around bikes. Sorry for the rant, it just pisses me off when morons in cars drive like well.....morons....around motorcyclists.

Oh, yeah; I already signed up for the MSF course. I wont buy the bike until after the course.
Everything that Honda Makes seems to be a bit more "race" than I need. Insurance is a big factor for me.

I wouldn't mind having one of them R6's. I know a guy in Alberta who has one and does track races or whatnot with it. It is one sexy bike.

My friend lost a leg from an old lady who didnt see him on his bike. careful out there friends. It takes only one spill. And he has been riding bikes for over 30 years. (fake leg uses a suction pump. It can suck blisters out from your stubby)

any of the late 80's honda's like the shadow or magna would be a great starter bike. i don't think u'd get tired of riding maybe one of the V65 Magna. my brother used to have one. it's considered 1000cc and pretty damn quick.

I'd have to go with the SV. I still love my 01. Just sold my 03 600rr and I'm not sure what I'll replace her with, but I'll prolly never sell my 650.
SV=best 1st sports bike period. Get a naked with some big arse frame sliders (motosliders.com).
My 1st bike was GS500e, also a great 1st bike.
