well I was comming up to a red light on a 4 lane road, when this Honda V-tech pulls up beside me, he had a roll cage and a aftermarket spoiler and one of those annoying buzzing mufflers from what I could see.
Anyway, He looks over at me reving his motor laughing at me....I was thinking "whatever you learn quickly what boost is all about",
so the light turns green...he guns it and I slowly accerlat to 3K (which is boost range for me), I slowly accelerated because I wanted him to get a bit ahead of me before I smoked him.
so im in the 3k range in 2nd gear and the Honda is 1/2 a car length ahead of me, (excatly where I wanted him), I gun it and the boost kicks in (I was running 15psi's that day) and I fly right by him leving him at least 1 car length behind if not more. The funny thing was I didn't have a hard time pulling on him...as soon as the boost kicked in I was gone, I think he must have been stock under the hood, and just did the appearence to look fast, sure he may of had a cone filter and stuff, but all he seemed to have was that roll cage and a fart pipe muffler.

Anyway Another "Ricer kill" done by my trusty boosted mx-6 gt...I love my car.

boost is awesome. im working on a jytt kit on my 91 lx. I have a 351w with 2 mitsu T25s. I might run intercooled til I can afford one.

hmm...he had a aftermarket spoiler? and a rollcage? so that must mean he had VTEC? (not vtech, by the way)

all im saying is it was a honda with V-tec stickers on it....and the car was totttal RICE period.
Now I "think" it was a Civic or a accord...god I don't know anything about hondas...and Id rather not ever know anything about them....but the reason I said it was a V-tec, is because he had V-tec stickers on his car!!! didn't know I was souposed to be spicific, all I knew was it was a Honda and I smoked him. Knowing alot of honda drivers (excluding you "prelude") he probley didn't even have a V-tec engine just the stickers which in his mind added 5hp.

by the way...the mx-6 "turbo" can beat almost any Honda in the 1/4 mile thats not on the bottle...but even when they are on the bottle..., the only exception being the s20000.

my mx6 could have taken an s2000 I think... just judging by how much my FC pulled on them

Prelude, I don't really care if VTECH is written this way "VTECH" or this way "vtech" either way you know what I said, anyway I didn't go "Oh man I have to look to see what kind of Honda this is before I race it", "because I have to be able to brag about the car I beat and how can I do that if I don't know the modle"
Basically I didn't bother to see what the modle was because it didn't matter to me I knew I could take him no matter what kind of honda it was.
But just so your happy...I believe it was a Honda Accord that was a possible VTECH but you never know with these ricers...they stick VTECH stickers on their cars even if its not VTECH. and as far as im concerned VTECH means nothing, since the VTECH wouldn't creat the power until like peak RPM and by that time the race is over... lol hondas...Im not a Honda hater like you might think I am I just hate most of the drivers, its not the cars that makes the RICE its the driver that turns the car into RICE, but your Prelude is not rice IMHO...although I havent seen many pics of it yet. You also seem to be one of the Few Honda drivers that don't have their head up their A$$, and think their car is BadA$$ and that nothing can touch it, because you even admit in some of your post that your car is slow....but i bet its not really slow, 16 in the 1/4 isn't bad...there is deffintally pontenital to get her into the 14's unless youve alredy modded her all up and 16's is all you can run.
Ask chris the mx-6 GT runs 17 sec in the 1/4 mile in stock form, but with our cars (or engine in chris's case), can easily be brought into the 13's with an upgraded turbo...but if we can find a way to cool our stock turbo down at boost levels higher than 15psi's then we may even be able to get 13's with the stock turbo.

Right now I'm running 10 psi. Tomorrow evening I'll be running a wee bit more :) The flames are natural but those were induced by my rev limiter at 3000 rpm. (ah the joys of an engine management system)

non turbo mx6s dont even run a 16 in the 1/4....

turbos are around 14.5 and non turbos are about 15.7

the turbo mx-6 is 14.5 in the 1/4???? in stock form??? woops I got my numbers wrong then I always thought stock was 17sec in the 1/4. oh well thats even better for me I bet at 15psi's I'll run like 13's or somthing like that.
Anyway the numbers I was talking was for the turbo mx-6.. the non-turbos arn't really worth trying to mod to make them go faster, the non-turbos are good for peppy every day driving or mabey modding for street racing.

every honda you see will have vtec stickers on it...must be something with the ricers...im not a ricer...i was when i had my projector headlights on..but they are off now...

and you said it was an accord...i wouldnt brag of beating them, even if they had vtec, cause it is SOHC VTEC, not DOHC VTEC, so accords only have vtec for gas milage (sp?) reasons...they have like 125 horses...no bragging rights there if you beat them?

i know i dont have my head up my ass...i dont race my daily driver anymore:rolleyes: ...after i was out of a car for 4 months and spent $2500 on a rebuild after she blew up....i am now keeping it as a show car..i got the kit and getting 18s..i will turn heads with it, and i am going to buy a 2nd gen camaro and build a V8..easy power...make it 10 times as fast as any honda, with 10times less money..

16s in the 1/4 is slow..dont says it moderate..its horrible..:( if you look up stats on my car, they say 15.7 stock for Si's...but i got auto, so its a little slower...VTEC preludes will run 14.9s-15.0s stock...i also have greddy exhaust and intake, and still run 16.0s...i will be doing a 5spd swap in the near future, chris will be doing it...so im sure with the 5spd, and 2 mod i got, i can get mid 15s or lower..my car is mostly stock, no major mods...ive seen many 4th gen preludes with H23s turbo them and get in the 13s easy...but i aint going that route..

all in all...if you have a forced induction car, no bragging is necessary if a honda is beatin'..

I wasn't trying to brag although I love it when I beat hondas...especially whem they laugh at my car. anywho you right not much bragging rights when racing a car that is non-FI, unless they're a v6 or a v8, i seem to be able to beat alot of v6's havent got a chance to race many v8's.
anyway I was just putting a post in the "kill stories" section...if this section is strictly for "bragging" rights then I won't post unless I beat another FI car or a V6 or V8.

nah, any kill will do...just not one where it seems you are boasting over something that simple...;)

bring it to shady side next time they have an import race. the fastest import (80s 300zx) ran 8.47.
cars running 9s: s2000, evo, WRX and 300zx TT.

stock gearing and lack of traction make a lot of cars look bad. a good locker or lsd helps a lot. you can usually tell their potential by the MPH though.

is primer grey? if so and it was missing a front bumper and had a F-250 SuperDuty style intercooler and t-tops removed thats the one. there was a similar slower car but it had a front bumper.

Yea i agree about the SOHC thing. If you beat a VTEC accord, not too much bragging there. Now if you beat a DOHC VTEC Lude, then that's a different story, but i kinda doubt that, unless you were racing a dumb driver, and that's highly unlikely for a dumb driver in a Prelude. Then it wouldn't be fair anyway. MX-6 is an ok car, but i've smoked a couple in my town and that's possibly due to the fact that they had too much rice that night and they thought stickers gave them 200whp...just not happenin. Once again, MX-6's/Probes aren't bad cars, but I haven't found too many smart drivers who have them. They try to be apart of our Import Crowd and not realizing that putting a powered by Honda sticker (in Japanese Letters :alcohol: ) on your door doesn't make you any faster than any other car on the road. Domestic tuners aren't the smartest of ppl. You seem like you are, but your Domestic Tuner Crowd speaks for itself, and makes you all look bad. Especially when you have too much rice for dinner before you go to the track....

they are smart cause they have the most effiecient motors..V8s...dont take anything to make them fast...we spend 10 times are much to go the same ET, etc..

Theyre not more efficient. Theyre less efficient. They make more power because theyre twice as large as a four cylinder...

Well I don't know much about effiency b/c i'm a Car Audio/ICE person, but I do know that even if my car was brand new with all after market parts w/o turbo or nos, I'd still get my ass handed to me by any V8 American Sports car. They have more than twice the displacement, twice the power, and more than likely, more than twice the torque. That's why we need to stay in our genre when racing, and the domestic's need to stay in theirs.

Honda's race Hondas, Nissans, Subarus, etc.

Ford's race Chevy's, Dodge's, and so on....

Why take a chance when racing an american V8 GT Cobra when you know that they'll bend you over and rape you senseless. That's why I don't rev at ppl anymore, i've learned my lesson.

N/A v8s are ok but v8s with turbos or superchargers are sweet. we spend so much on gas it takes us a while to save up for them.
