rxtasy 05-11-2005, 11:33 PM around 2:20 this afternoon(may 11), i turned onto s. blackstock rd up by deny's and that super 8 motel, rounded the curve and there was a car in the on coming lane but didn't realize the woman making a left turn across my lane. when she saw me she stopped, half in her lane half in mine. by the time i realized she was in my lane i was too close to stop. all it did to her's was break some of the front grill and scuff up the front facia. mine, it completely pushed the driver's side finder, wheel, strut tower and steering column in. didn't hurt the engine tho so i'll be looking for something to replace it with. sorry i have no was of getting pics just yet but hope to by the weekend. i wasn't really hurt since i was able to brace for impact but my wife was with me, had just picked her up from work and she was counting her tips and not looking so she wasn't so lucky. she got into the windshield. except for a few cuts on the forehead, she seems to be ok. preludedude 05-11-2005, 11:59 PM man...stuff like that happenes so unexpectedly...who's fault does the police report say it is? so the car is gone beyond repair? i also think parts would be pretty rare for that car...only car ive seen like it..:)...go ahead and get a nice body FC like Sean951....he paid $400 for a FC with great body and engine that doesnt run... Hell, you may even come out on top like me...;) Good luck.. Mark 95SE Cosby 05-12-2005, 12:03 AM I'm sorry to hear that. The bad part is that insurance (if it was her fault) won't give you what we would consider the car to be worth. I hope your wife is alright. Talon4x4 05-12-2005, 01:39 AM thats where it really counts to get exotic/antique/classic car insurance :( so sad to hear that... another classic gone... darn... sharo227 05-12-2005, 01:46 AM that sucks. glad ur ok and i hope ur wifey is ok rxtasy 05-12-2005, 10:38 AM yeah the car is beyond repair and yes it was her fault, no doubt about it, she stopped in my lane and was ticketed for failure to yield right of way. if i end up replacing it with an rx7, it will be a 1st gen, all others r just too heavy. or maybe a 3rd gen but those wont be cheap enough no time soon. never really liked the "porsche" lookalike of the 2nd gens. rxtasy 05-12-2005, 10:40 AM thats where it really counts to get exotic/antique/classic car insurance :( so sad to hear that... another classic gone... darn... since it's was a daily driver, those types of insurance don't apply, i've checked. they all have a mileage limit. Cosby 05-12-2005, 11:06 AM yeah I hate it when cars look like porsches :sarcasm: Sean951 05-12-2005, 03:42 PM lol, they do look alike. ive got them right next to each other. the rx7 is smaller though, and not as agressive looking. the interior in the porsche is also much better. but sitting in the rx7 feels more secure. they both have their strong and weak points. allthough i dont know to much about the rx7s, exept for the looks department. becuase i have yet to drive it, and even then it will probly be with a non stock engine. ChevyMuscle 05-13-2005, 08:30 AM sorry to hear that man like everyone says... 91lx 05-13-2005, 12:19 PM curious what insurance will give for it ??? rxtasy 05-13-2005, 01:04 PM so am i, but i'm sure it wont be much since i've already let the claims lady that called the other day that i WILL be keeping it. Talon4x4 05-14-2005, 10:37 AM i was pretty sure grundy had unilimited mileage.... maybe just me Talon4x4 05-14-2005, 10:40 AM yea i believe they do http://www.grundy.com/grundy_car_insurance.html rxtasy 05-14-2005, 10:41 AM No Mileage Limitations This policy authorizes unlimited hobby use of your collector vehicle in collector activities, exhibits and parades. While participating in these events, owners are free to enjoy their collector vehicle without monitoring the odometer. i still don't think it willl apply since it is a daily driver, but i will check on it with the next one. Etnies_Chic 05-14-2005, 10:42 PM I still love the FC's. i'm looking into getting one. but at least everyone is ok. and hopefully you can get something sexy Sean951 05-14-2005, 11:17 PM speaking of sexy, i think the porsche is going to be replaced with this :yumyum: http://motorcyclistonline.com/images/0212mc_speedfour_profile_zoom.jpg Cosby 05-15-2005, 10:37 PM I'm hoping to get a bike before I go back to school too CU ZCar 05-16-2005, 05:21 PM Sorry to hear about your accident, and hope your wife feels better soon. If you have trouble locating another RX car and don't want to cop out and get a 7, you could do one of the other popular rotary swaps like Datsun 510 or Triumph Spitfire to keep a low weight. I bet you could find another early RX if you look though. rxtasy 05-16-2005, 11:14 PM oh i've already been looking. had a friend call me sun. some guy in the winston-salem area has a '74 rx4 he'll let me have real cheap, so that's probably what i'll end up with. there's several other rx3's but they're just more than i have money for. |
