I hate to not have a backup option. Supper 03-17-2006, 04:41 PM backup option is the second gun sitting in the pickup :wiggle: :swords: I know where you're coming from though. turbomark7 03-17-2006, 06:10 PM Looks great - what receivers are you using? Did y'all read that article in SGN about a year ago regarding how well this rendition of AR kills Taliban in the Afghan sandbox? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/turbomark7/Weapons/Picture049.jpg AmishBoy 03-17-2006, 07:09 PM Dpms R281 04-30-2006, 11:12 AM Nice, but I like the "carrying handle" on those things. Call me old school. Man I wish I could get my hands on some high cap mags. I only have 10 round mags for my mini-14. Did you build this AR from gun parts Amish or was it already an AR and you just added/removed parts? Cosby 04-30-2006, 02:47 PM I love the ar compared to the ak. Better hit up a gun show for those high cap mags R281 04-30-2006, 04:14 PM I've been to two guns shows and I haven't found any. Is it because I'm in California??? Cosby 04-30-2006, 06:03 PM I would assume so.. .or at least bc youre not in SC Supper 04-30-2006, 10:17 PM Is it because I'm in California??? yep. I could get you some high cap mags, but then I could be arrested for trafficing. R281 05-01-2006, 08:12 PM What if I buy some and bring them over? Don't you guys have a lot of pre-ban mags available? I'm pretty sure you can build an AR from scratch, but would this cost me a lot more than just buying one and where would I register it? AmishBoy 05-02-2006, 09:23 AM Well here in the free states we can buy new high cap mags and carry concealed firearms. Unfortunately you can't even have an AR much less high cap mags in California. As for the AR, I built it from parts. I have a manufactures license. BEAR ARMS My slogan is "YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS". R281 05-02-2006, 10:31 PM Is there anyway you can build me something similar to an AR (without it being illegal)? I've seen similar guns in gun stores. AmishBoy 05-03-2006, 02:44 PM There is a Cali model that has a non-removable magazine and only holds 10 rounds. What the deal is the Gov defines an assault rifle as having three of the following. pistol grip removable box magazine flash suppressor bayonet lug grenade launcher In Cali you can only have one of these and be legal. So to me the best rifle for you would be a M14 with a muzzle brake. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a118/SLUF1354/USM14A.jpg R281 05-03-2006, 08:01 PM You can't find M-14s around here. We have the M-1A1, but I'm hesistant on buying one. Perhaps I should move to Arizona. AmishBoy 05-04-2006, 09:31 AM No just move to TN. We can have almost anything here. fcdrifter13 05-04-2006, 01:03 PM I dont think I cant get any gun here. I dont know the gun laws, wish I did though. AmishBoy 05-04-2006, 02:20 PM Well it's not right and everyone should make a bigger fuss to their local gov. AustinsFD 08-30-2006, 05:01 PM how much did it run you? AmishBoy 09-22-2006, 11:11 PM AHH $900 I think. AmishBoy 09-04-2007, 05:20 PM Well I needed something in 9mm. A good sub gun. But I decided to stay with the good old AR platform and I must say. I love it I wish I had got one years ago. http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y175/amishboy/?action=view¤t=Untitled_0001.flv R281 09-04-2007, 10:03 PM Hey is that you Amish? That thing is pretty badass. AmishBoy 09-05-2007, 04:35 PM Yeah that's me. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y175/amishboy/100_0819.jpg R281 09-06-2007, 05:21 PM I didn't know you were a huero. AmishBoy 09-06-2007, 05:27 PM What's a huero? Are you calling me a white boy? R281 09-06-2007, 10:47 PM Yeah. Aren't you? I don't mean it as an insult or anything. I thought you had some latin/mexican blood in you. I based this assumption from the pic of your girl or ex-girl. AmishBoy 09-07-2007, 11:54 AM I just wasn't sure what "huero" was. I thought that was what it meant. But yeah I'm all white. I just date Latin women. They're the best!:bigthumb: R281 09-07-2007, 02:25 PM I don't blame you. :D AmishBoy 09-07-2007, 04:12 PM I was going Asian for a while but I'm all Latina now. R281 09-07-2007, 04:41 PM They get crazy if you try to leave them though. Do you have any kids? AmishBoy 09-07-2007, 04:50 PM Two boys. R281 09-08-2007, 10:43 AM Well, at least you know your Y-chromosomes work. :D wayneard3413 10-29-2007, 06:03 PM Back to the AR you built.... How does it balance having the full length upper with a rail and the M4 style stock? AmishBoy 10-29-2007, 07:18 PM Well it's just a 16" barrel. It just has a full-length guard. It's aluminum and doesn't really weigh anything. wayneard3413 10-29-2007, 08:19 PM Oh ok... I guess its just the angle in the pics but it looks like a full size 20 in upper wayneard3413 10-30-2007, 09:39 AM What type of rear sight are you using? AmishBoy 10-30-2007, 05:33 PM MATECH http://www.e-na.co.jp/gate1/img/prd/m/21586.jpg wayneard3413 11-04-2007, 01:28 PM Went to a school up in NY a couple of weeks ago and they issued us M4s with a BUIS that looks exactly like that 91lx 03-18-2008, 11:22 PM Where do you buy your .223 Amish ? Its pretty high around here -vs- last year. Paid $75 for 200rds of Remington earlier today. Is there any cheap good stuff ? Supper 03-20-2008, 06:17 PM Is there any cheap good stuff ? no such thing as "cheap good stuff" Even Lake City surplus is getting up around ~ $0.50 a round. and I wouldn't trust the Wolf polymer shit, several of the guys "in the know" don't even allow that shit at the courses anymore. Same goes for certain lots of the lacquered Wolf, you're taking a risk every time one of those goes down the pipe. Tofuball 03-20-2008, 10:32 PM Are you reccomending we should stay away from Wolf entirely, or just the polymers? Alex-7 03-20-2008, 10:43 PM I've fired thousands and thousands of rounds of 5.56 and 7.62 wolf and never had a single issue. Ever. |
