The assignment was to write a "personal profile" on an 18 year old palestinian muslim. I was to detail his past and future with accurate facts as to the HDI and current issues of his country. I met all required points but thought I'd mess with her a bit. I doubt she'll know just what to think:
Chris Osborne, POSC 102-3, Profile 3.
Mohammad Jibar is an eighteen-year-old Muslim male living in the West Banks. He was born there and has been a local his entire life. The young Palestinian despises the Israelites for occupying Palestine and damaging trade and jobs. The frequent border closures and increases in costs to import products from Israel have caused massive inflation as well as pushed many companies out of business. Mohammad has always wanted to work in the factory his father managed, but the industrial sector was harmed severely by the ongoing issues with Israel.
Now, industrial-based companies only make up eight percent of the nation's GDP so Mohammad is having trouble finding a job. The standard of living in Palestinian areas is poor, with the average income per capita being only 750.00 USD and a GDP of only 3.4 Million USD for a nation that consists of over 3,000,000 people.
After trying to get work in a factory for months, Mohammad has instead taken jobs performing services as many others have had to do. He travels to East Jerusalem frequently to perform these odd jobs. This is very stressful career move and his expected age of death is sixty nine if he doesn't meet an explosive end first.
In the future, Kerry will be elected president of the United States and Mohammad will give up trying to lead a productive life and turn completely to Islam, which has almost taken over the world. Like most of his generation, he was conditioned by Palestinian government propaganda from a very young age. The government has made Jihad an acceptable and honorable act in the eyes of young children through their campaigns against the well-funded Israeli government. Like many others, he will take it upon himself to attack the Israeli people through a cowardly and somewhat inefficient method.
After joining an extremist group, Mohammad finds that he no longer has to work as hard because his income is being subsidized by the generous donations of leaders such as Osama Bin Laden. Even though Mohammad’s workload has been decreased to toting a machine gun and shouting anti-American slogans, he will finally grow tired of constantly hearing "Mohammad" and thinking someone is speaking to him when in actuality they are calling to one of the thousands of other Mohammads. Being somewhat mentally unstable already, he will become very confused and strap a home-made bomb to his chest, made from the various metal objects he found on his way home from the weekly Islamic fundamentalist meeting.
Mohammad will secretly cross the border and walk into a coffee shop where innocent civilians are peacefully enjoying the coffee that is most likely forbidden by his leaders. Like many other confused suicide bombers, he will flip the switch, and in the instant the bomb detonates he will realize that he could have simply changed his name to something less common.
I hope this fully encompasses my political views on Islamic extremists (with a hint of sarcasm) and the inevitable inability of Kerry to deal with them.
