Police also found an elderly nursing home patient in the man’s car, who was apparently abducted, but otherwise unhurt.
Typically, on any given day, the BP Connect gas station at Interstate 285 and Chamblee-Tucker Road gets all sorts of people coming into the store. Wednesday was no different, except for the naked guy skulking down the aisle.
“Well, I was standing inside the store and all I see is this -- this guy walk inside the store and into the restroom. And he comes out naked, running all the way up the Subway from here,” said store clerk Tanvir Rahmin.
Not used to seeing a full moon at high noon, the clerks had to make sure they weren't seeing things. A quick check of the store's surveillance cameras quickly confirmed the naked truth.
“Well-dressed guy. He came to the store, went to the bathroom and came out naked from the bathroom. And then we went inside and checked, and he put all of his clothes -- very nicely folded -- on the commode, and he just walked out like that was normal for him, you know,” said store owner Rafiq Devji.
The police were called, and 27-year-old John Wesley Faull was arrested a short time later, after police found an elderly man in his car.
The man was unharmed, apparently abducted for no apparent reason from an elderly care home.
Devii couldn’t say whether or not Faull looked nuts.
“I don't know. I didn't have a chance to think about that,” said Rahmin.
At the BP, the clerks still can’t believe their eyes, even when the proof is there, caught on tape.
Faull faces indecency charges in DeKalb County, along with kidnapping and burglary charges in Gwinnett County.
