Ducks are a total pain in the ass when you first get them because you have to be with them 24/7. They're pretty easy to just put in your pocket if you're wearing a fleece. It's the night time that's obnoxious. Sometimes they will wake up and peep until you pick them up and then they have to sleep with you all night and in the morning they will peep until you get up and feed them. They're like dogs though and get along well with other people and animals.

I'm jealous! I want to get some ducks, but my GF says we need a pond and some fencing to keep them safe first.

I have a little 8ft by 4ft pond with a 2ft tall garden fence around the whole area. The dogs actually protect the duck from predators. A full grown duck can pretty much hold its own with a lab or golden but not a hawk/fox/coyote. We boarded the dogs last year and left the duck in the back and when we got home something had killed the duck. I won't do that again.

She doesn't shit in your pocket but the second you hand her to someone she'll shit on them. It's pretty funny.

The baby duck likes to sleep in my chest.....cuz it's warm and then can hear your heart beat....so far shes only shit on my boobs once.....she kept us up ALL night last night <peep peep peep peeep> ya if you get a duck, be prepared to not sleep much the first week. They are great to take to a bar or anywhere in public because everyone always wants to hold her.....guys...its a great way to pick up chicks.....and thanks I like my bracelets...Tiffanys...and I guess its good that I have chick hands..since I am a female

We were going to get two mallards but they only had females. This breed is supposed to be great all around and 290+ eggs a year
