Supper 11-14-2006, 09:02 PM NASCAR is one of the most worthless "sports" out there. Animal 11-14-2006, 09:35 PM ^+1 barneymcveigh 11-14-2006, 11:55 PM i try to catch the races when they run a road course.but other than that i just cant sit and watch the cars go in a giant oval/circle for 500 laps. but go figure i can sit at the track all day and watch cars go in a straight line.ha Digi7ech 11-17-2006, 07:36 PM I consider drifting more of a sport than nascar. What the hell is the sport in only going left around a huge oval with an over crowded track? I think that's the only mass media automotive sport where you wantch it to see crashes instead of the race. ReverendDexter 04-25-2007, 05:35 PM I agree, for a spectator sport NASCAR is right up there with golf. And like golf, NASCAR takes a lot more skill than most people are willing to admit. Going 180+ mph inches from the 6 cars all around you and *not* crash is pretty damn impressive if you ask me. Also, the setup of the cars is much more integral to the race - on a road track you just want to make the car as neutral as possible, on a cirlce track you want to bias it to take best advantage of the paticular left turns. And insofar as it being worthless, NASCAR drivers are the best paid drivers in racing, period. NASCAR is the biggest sport in the U.S., and with that comes a LOT of cash. Now all that being said, I don't watch it, nor am I paticularly interested in doing so. I'd much rather watch WRC. cool3865 04-30-2007, 08:15 PM i guess driving at .4 secs inbetween cars all around you at 190MPH and having to break is concidered childs play with you guys toosmuth 05-01-2007, 01:21 PM I'll try to catch the end of some races (mostly the bigger name ones), due to the monotony of the entire race. I definitely respect what the drivers are doing, but it does get a bit repetitive--that being said, in person is definitely a whole different experience....ts ReverendDexter 05-01-2007, 02:01 PM i guess driving at .4 secs inbetween cars all around you at 190MPH and having to break is concidered childs play with you guys You've obviously never had to deal with Arcata drivers. |
