The Smart car made by Daimler-Benz is the smallest car currently in production; with an exterior length of just under 2.5m ( 8ft 4ins )it beats its nearest rival, the Rover Mini, by 55cm ( 1ft 8ins ). The two seater car has removable body panels made out of plastic, allowing owners to change the colour of there cars

The biggest car ever to be produced for private use was the Bugatti 'Royale' type 41 built in France, by Bugatti in 1927, the car has an 8 cylinder engine, a 12.7 litre capacity and is more than 22 ft long.
the bonnet alone is 7ft long.

The Koenig Competition: 2417, built in 1989, and the Koenig Competition Evolution: 2418, built in 1990, in Germany, are both 7ft 2 3/4ins wide.( 2.195 m )

A 'stretched' Zil, of which only two or three were made annually, was used by former president Mikhail Gorbachev until Dec 1991. It weighed 6 tonnes and used 75 mm ( 3 ins ) armour plated steel for protection in key area's.
The eight cylinder engine used fuel like it was going out of fashion, 2.2km/litre ( 6 mpg ).
