The one-step stuff is alright, but the slick "new" feeling it leaves fades away pretty quickly. What do you guys recommend for treatment of leather seats?

Zero 07-08-2007, 12:30 PM I've been using meguiars one-step cleaner/protector... just applying it on the seats every couple of weeks and wiping in with a cloth. I crack my windows during the day to let heat escape too. The one-step stuff is alright, but the slick "new" feeling it leaves fades away pretty quickly. What do you guys recommend for treatment of leather seats? Zero 07-08-2007, 12:43 PM Where can both of the above be purchased? Zero 07-08-2007, 12:49 PM willlllll try it, thanks. meddle 07-11-2007, 12:59 AM don't forget to pray to jesus for some sick ass sweetly dope leather. The JC may taketh, but that jew will giveth it you jive right. fuck thats funny enough i may quote myself in my own sig. SpartanTS 07-12-2007, 01:30 PM Turtle Wax cleaner and conditioner Say No To Pistons 07-12-2007, 02:09 PM ^ No. SpartanTS 07-12-2007, 06:13 PM ^ No. Works for me...what would you recommend? Say No To Pistons 07-12-2007, 06:54 PM For leather cleaning i only use the 8:1 woolite/water formula. The "famous" (he's over at autopia) Scottwax uses the same thing and he believes it the most gentile and effective way to clean leathers. The results proves it. Leather conditioning ive used Sonus, Mink oil, Tanner's Preserves, Leather Master's Leather Vital. Leather Vital is my favorite but it's a little pricey. Those are the "high end" one's, other options are Lexol and Meguiar's new two step Aloe formulas. SpartanTS 07-12-2007, 09:57 PM I ended up getting the Turtle Wax Leather clr/conditioner for $3, as my store had so much of it, I clearanced it and bought a few bottles... It makes my leather look great. Better than it did when I bought the car. I haven't tried any other products yet, but once I run out i'm going to try some of the suggested products. Steel 07-12-2007, 10:47 PM i have a weird question... my riding jacket has leather sleeves but the rest is denimn... how the hell do i wash this thing?! SpartanTS 07-12-2007, 10:52 PM i have a weird question... my riding jacket has leather sleeves but the rest is denimn... how the hell do i wash this thing?! Damn that was random... The read the tag? Zero 07-13-2007, 09:57 AM I'll probably try something new this weekend... I'm really looking fora good protector. I love making people fly around the backseat because it's so slick. SpartanTS 07-13-2007, 11:05 AM ^ My friend has a 2000 Crown Vic. No bucket seats and leather are not a good combo, especially while doing power slides... If you don't mind putting armor all crap on your car, you can make them slide like jello. "Good protectors" usually give an OEM matte (with just a tiny bit of tone) finish instead of leaving an oily and slipper residue like Armor All crap. Don't forget to protect other interior parts liek the dash. I like using 303 and sonus total eclipse, i use the same formula i use for leather to clean it before protection. Exterior moldings, you can use Armor All crap but make sure you wipe the area with a clean towel so the Armor All doesn't run when it rains. I also use Armor All for fender liners too since it's cheap and i could careless if it's bad for the freaking fender liners. Zero 07-13-2007, 12:27 PM I use black magic tire wet for the other interior and exterior crap. Say No To Pistons 07-13-2007, 01:01 PM That shit is disgusting. I'm pretty sure that thing is oil based and will stain. I remember using that crap a long time ago and it felt and looked like motor oil after i applied it. SpartanTS 07-13-2007, 01:16 PM I use black magic for my tires and dash. I also use it for my Explorer's plastic cladding. speed_krazy 07-13-2007, 02:41 PM I recommend leatherique products. I have heard only good things about them, and I actually just purchased the rejuvinator oil and condition for my newly aquired a6 2.7t. Cant wait to use it. I'll take some b4 and after photos of the melange leather...mmmmmm Zero 07-15-2007, 10:07 PM Uhhh... maybe next weekend, this one was a little too interesting to clean seats. |
