OK guys, there's something big a couple of us are putting together... Something that i think yall will be very interested in, but I want to see exactly what the interest is first...

We've got a couple vendors lined up, but not many, so any of you guys who have your own business or know some people that can help sponsor this, it would be awesome. We are looking to give deep discounts the first couple months to get the ball rolling.

Also, any suggestions yall have on contents would be welome too!

We're going to start a local car magazine. It will be the size of a regular magazine, with a glossy cover and glossy insert. on the insert we'd like to get someone like Hooter's to sponsor a centerspread of either the local car of the month or local calendar of events. (if anyone can help with good hooter's contacts please do) It will be a magazine for car enthusiests of all types. This will include all car types, although of course the most dedicated crwods will most likely get the most coverage. We have a project car lined up (a 68 chevelle) that we'd like to feature every month. But everything in it will be LOCAL. LOCAL cars, maybe even local babes of the month whatever yall think we'd like to hear.

We're calling it Torque, and we'll have an initial proof ready next week, it's in the working now. Next week I'd like to show it some of yall and some people willing to advertise with it. We'd also like our advertisers to distribute it, and we're working on getting in Advance Auto and AutoZone (if anyone can help with that please do!)

We'd like to get as much help from the local guys as possible. This will truly be a magazine like the big boys, but on a local level.

So what do yall think???

I think it would be a great idea. Although there isn't a "HUGE" crowd of enthusiasts, a local magazine could give a good boost to not only local businesses who sell performance parts, but it'll boost the general knowledge of even the Westgate Ricers.

yeah, i dont think we'll have any problem with the name being taken by a british mag... we researched the name though there is one other local mag somewhere else called torque (i think it was minnesota or somewhere), but no problems there either. we thought it was a good name :)

sounds awesome but i dont know how much u can write on LOCAL stuff.. i think u should move it to the South East... other than that awesome idea... i'd go around to stores and see if they want to distribute and gas stations and stuff...

putting it out in the south east is a pretty big deal. there's plenty of local stuff going on every month. we want to distribute the mag over a larger area, but we just dont have the resources yet. within a year though we'd like to be all over the state.
