The only pics i had seen thus far was the orange ones...
Here's some I hadn't seen, thought some of you guys might like 'em.

My opinion: The body shape/size is great. I like the curves and the way it flows. However, the headlights/grille and the taillights suffer majorly.
Needs front end and rear end work.
$100T2 01-08-2006, 08:58 PM Wow, you're right, the front and rear suck... The rest is hot, though.
Nice to see the first person who responded noticed that it looks an awful lot like an RX-8.
SpartanTS 01-08-2006, 09:39 PM I don't like the V point on the front, reminds me of a mid 90's Buick Skylark. Other than that, if they can keep the price competitive with the Mustang, GM shouldn't have a problem selling them.
wingsfan 01-08-2006, 10:28 PM Ever wonder why GM's in financial difficulty? That thing's hideous. And it'll probably weigh 4000#.

I wouldn't go as far as to call it hideous, as styling is subjective. But it's not going to win any beauty contests with the other cars in its class if it looks like that at production.
GM's financial troubles are a whoooooole 'nuther discussion. I could post for days about the dumbass decisions they've made over the past 20 years.
wingsfan 01-08-2006, 10:49 PM True, styling is subjective, but the stupid v-shaped front end looks like a pinewood derby racer, and the trapezoidal tail lights look really dumb.
I'm guessing that by the pseudo retroness of it that I'm probably the target market too. That doesn't make me pine for my 68 Camaro though.
I agree that GM has managed to shoot themselves repeatedly in the foot. It's a wonder they are still afloat. They do make nice engines though(well the LSx series anyways).
jimlab 01-08-2006, 11:02 PM Ever wonder why GM's in financial difficulty? That thing's hideous. And it'll probably weigh 4000#.Not to mention having compromised passenger space and no cargo room, a lesson they don't seem to have learned from the Mustang's success.
Having had a '68 (I had a '67), you can attest to the huge amount of shit you could put in the usable trunk, not to mention three people in the back seat without moving seats forward or crushing anyone's legs.
For the Camaro, efforts like this are the only ones that I see having any real potential for the future...

jimlab 01-08-2006, 11:05 PM They do make nice engines though(well the LSx series anyways).Wouldn't it be ironic if they ended up as an engine shop for foreign manufacturers? Toyota Tacoma with an LS2 anyone? :)

Ahh yes, the 5 person keg run. I remember it well...sort of. I still miss that car sometimes. it was a money pit though.

I wish the big 3 would do a modernized full on retro with original bodies for the various muscle cars with modern drivetrains and interiors. I'd pony us the cash in a heartbeart for a composite circa 68 camaro with modern instrumentation and a 6.6L-7.0L LSx based drivetrain.

I'd take an AWD LS2 powered Impreza. :) IIRC Subaru and GM have a partnership.
vrooom305 01-09-2006, 12:02 AM ^ If that's true, I think that's too smart of an idea for GM to come up with
front and rear could use a redo. also as most every GM interior... theyve managed to make it look like shit.
cool3865 01-09-2006, 03:38 AM it looks like crap and the interior isnt any better

It's true they have partnership. Of course they'll never make anything like an LS2 powered Impreza. IIRC there's some GM input on the Baja and the 9. :puke:
aznpoopy 01-09-2006, 06:15 AM it looks okay.
i feel like its biting on the new mustang though.
YearsOfDecay 01-09-2006, 10:43 AM Looks like someone buttfucked a later model Ford Probe GT with an 06 Doge Charger......
At least it isn't a re-hash of that HEEEEDIOUS 80's style IROC....
SpartanTS 01-09-2006, 10:55 AM I liked the last gen Camaro design. My only gripe with it was it was too damn long.
Say No To Pistons 01-10-2006, 01:24 AM looks like crap...wtf...

that and the crappy GM interior which is poorly laid out, uncomfortable, just plain ugly.
TVS50LX 01-10-2006, 04:52 AM looks like a dodge charger to me
2ndGen.Rocket 01-10-2006, 07:20 AM And the Charger was biting on the heels of the new Mustang. It's not like there is an original idea here, GM just finally got their shit together and did what they should have done.
Now, if they let that car go out the front door with a front end like that, then they deserve every bit of bankruptcy they got. I don't even mind the rear that much. The front however, what the fuck are they thinking? Holy shit, that is hideous. That front end belongs on a Buick, can't they design something that is ballsy looking? Fuck you GM, get your head out of your ass.
saw the Charger on CNN earlier could have swore it was the car pictured above.
