IMHO they coulda made the headlamps/grille larger, bringing it down a bit more and matching the huge proportions of the rest of the car... but overall it's pretty cool :)

I swear I didn't think much of the chargers until I saw one up close in person. Looks very beast + sporty for a 4-door car.

Yeah, the Charger looks way better in the 'flesh'. Especially when coming up behind you. Catch those headlights & grille in your mirror & it looks like as angry as a fat chick at last call.

I would pimp it.

My brother had a 72 Challenger that he sold to a friend for $400 (rather than selling it to his little brother... Asshole!!) It was sweet. 318, 4 bbl, 3 speed manual...

A good friend works at a dealership.. I was taking him some cash and checked one out. It looks 100 times better than the pic posted above. Damn good for a 4-door.

i like the GTO -vs- the current Dodge V8 sedan (cant recall the name for some reason). need to focus more on better MPG than better performance for the time being imo.

Yes, but it's supposed to look like a '70 Challenger not a '73. This is the Challenger I want. T/A all the way! I'm going to put side exhaust and the T/A hood scoop on my Dart 'cause I like 'em so much. Gimmie!

I still can't believe my asshole brother sold his rather than selling it to me...

You see, it started way back in 1986... My brother was 17, saved up $1000 and bought the Challenger from his friend. He put some money in it, got it running nice. I was 13 at the time, helped him work on it a bit... I knew all sorts of theory about cars, but didn't have any experience.

So then, he turned 18. On his 18th birthday, he got a check for $25,000 and started getting $500 a month (which he gets for the rest of his life), so he went and bought a brand new 1987 Camaro. The Challenger sat in the driveway, beckoning me. Then, one of my brother's loser friends asked him about it. He told the kid he could have it for $400. The kid agreed to pay $100 a month for four months and drove off with it. He never got it registered, and it got towed, impounded, and auctioned. The kid then told my brother, "Since I don't have it, why should I pay you for it?" and never did.

All because he didn't sell it to his little brother. Dickhead.

yeah, B-17s are cool looking war machines. I like them better than their replacement, the B-29.

B-17's are damn sexy, I know a guy that is part of the group still flying them.

But I much prefer the B-24. And not just because my grand father flew in one ;)

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/Sup1661/Work%20Safe/8d37e640.jpg

the B-24's are especially enteresting if you get into the R&D that was done to them and all of the changes that were done during production. And not just to armaments and turrets, but all of the different fusalage variations as well.

And it was all only possible because of one mans ideas on airfoils that the majority of manufacturers thought would never work.

Before anyone gets too fucking excited, keep in mind that they'll just end up putting the same truck grill on it that they put on everything else... gotta have brand recognition. :bigthumb:

Then again, maybe they learned something from GM's mishandling of the GTO. Let's see, I'll bet it went something like this...

GM Exec #1: Wow, the public really likes this car from Australia, so let's offer it for sale in the U.S.
GM Exec #2: Great idea Bob, but first, let's put a butt-fucking Pontiac grill on it so no one mistakes it for a classy looking car!
GM Exec #3: And we'll sell it for nearly $40k so everyone feels like they got a great deal on that prized Pontiac quality...

No wonder they're laying off 30,000 employees.

I think it was more like

GM Exec #1: Wow, our sales are slipping something fierce. From 49% market share to 26%, even after buying up other car companys!

GM Exec #2: Hey, what if we do something 'retro'? It worked for those Chrysler jerks.

GM Exec #3: Yeah - in the 60's we just took a regular sedan, slapped a big engine into it, and created the legendary GTO!

GM Exec #2: But there's more competition now, and both our competitors and customers are more sophisticated... I'm fired, aren't I?

GM Exec #1: Oh yeah. Like Alex Mair fired.

GM Exec #3: (swallowing nervously) This sleepy Australian sedan might make a good platform.

GM Exec #1: Perfect. Slap on that double-kidney grille we stole from BMW and we'll call it a day.

GM Exec #2: If we're ging retro, shouldn't we use the Romulan bird-face grille we used to?

GM Exec #1:...

GM Exec #2: *sigh* I'll clean out my desk...
