that is a video of the new cosworth formula 1 v8, revving to 20,002 RPM. it idles at 9000RPM. the engines they are running now are v10s. but because of rule changes, they will have to run v8s next season. it was done to try and slow them down, but it never does. the v8s are soposed to make just as much power as the current v10s. which is around 900hp, makes you wonder how much power they could make if they went back to the v12 :) by the way, that v8 has a displacement of 2.4 liters

That's a neat engine. how much lighter are they compared to the v10/v12?

im not sure, because formula 1 is so secretive on stats of parts. i do know that the V12 could be lifted by one person.
