I have electric strings on my acoustic. Only way to fly.

What kind of guitar and what do you like to play?

Guage is far more important than brand to me. Spending more money doesn't make them last any longer or sound any better IMO.

I think I usually buy D'adario (sp?)

I've always used Ernie Ball strings for my electric guitars, and Martin for my acoustic guitars.

Why would you put classical strings (nylon) on a normal guitar?

I love Everly Rockers on my electric...I play with .009's although I snap them pretty much every show. The thicker you can handle, the better.

I've tried ernie balls, i played with d'addario for a long time...i settled on everly because they stay bright sounding for WEEKS as opposed to a day or two for the other strings.

Uh, nickel wound strings sound like shit on an acoustic.

I don't think so. I only have one acoustic and its had electric strings on it since the first set wore out.

Have you actually played bronze wound strings on it? Bronze strings sound vastly different from nickel wound strings, that's why bronze strings are made for acoustics and nickel for electric. I'm not talking out of my ass dude, I've played guitar for half of my life.

Not since it was new. It sounds fine to me, maybe not as good as it could but I play mainly electric. And have been doing so actively for 18 of my 24 years.....

Well give it a shot, you might be impressed. Hell I even know guys that will use bronze wound strings, EAD, and light gauge electrics for GBE so they can bend easier.

I'll give em another shot.
