So yeah, i decided to get a haircut today at a Barber shop today. My hair was at it's halfway point to getting emo long. I ask my friend what i should ask for when i get a hair cut (i usually go to salons) and he said "just ask for a tape up, 3 on the side and 8 on top". Ok, so i ask him whats "tape up" and he said it means "to cut the whole head". So i go to the barber shop and ask for a tape up, 3 on the side, and 8 on top. The barber grabs the trimmer and starts shaving my head. FUCK!!! The top is short as fuck (around 1/2 inches), the side/back is flared out, everything under the flared out part is faded and much shorter so it makes the flared out part even more noticeable. Turns out "tape up" means guido nigerian style, i found out that it is also called "blow out" after i searched google. I have a high hairline (gives me a big forehead) and theres a fucking straight line of hair above my fore head thats about 1/4-1/2 " long. By the time the barber turned me towards the mirror, it was too late.

So yeah, my head looks like a fucking mushroom. I'm pissed because i was stupid enough to listen to my informative friend. I passed by a spanish girl and she looked at my hair and gave me a weird look.

I'm fucked till my hair grows back in a month or two. I don't even want to go out looking like a fucking mushroom. I would probably have a chance of fixing it if i didnt ask for a fucking "8". No more ghetto Barber shops for me.

Some pics after i squashed the hair down with my hood and headphone for a few hours.. Looks like it's longer but it's really not. The hairline up front is about 1/4" at the edge and the rest is 1/2. I just have really thick and straight hair. MSpaint gook eyes (i dont have serious gook eyes or gook lids IMO though).

It looks a lot worse in person. You can't see the nasty flares, "mushroomness", and front hairline in the cellphone pics.

I'm not an asian gangsta or a chigga. I don't want to be one either :( . THe sweater may look ghetto but i'm cold at home so i threw on an old sweater.

Here's what i looked like last winter. Before i had the haircut today i looked almost identical to this pic but the hair was a tiny bit shorter and had less volume. Look at me all happy with my hair... I miss it.

Well, I don't go to a barber. No matter what you say to a barber, you end up with the same haircut. I trust chicks to cut my hair, they know what looks good.

like I said it is just hair, I keep mine short and it works for me. Only complaints I ever had is when I let it grow longer then a month. I would let chicks cut my hair, if they could get it right. I've had the same barber for at least 10years, he knows what I want and plus it is only 10 bucks

When I go to a barber shop I say "even it up on top and shorten up the sides." Usually turns out good.

Tomorrow I'm going to try having the barber trim up my beard too... we'll see how that goes.

you should let your hair grow out and go to a good Barber and place your hair in his hands. They should be able to give you a good cut based on your facial structure.

I actually think you're right about that. THe best haircut i've gotten was when i let the barber at a fancy salon do his thing. It wasn't my style though but it was the best i've had. Cost quite a lot too.
