I cut myself at work today, nothing life threatening, but enough to make me wonder if I'd need stiches. About an inch long and probly 1/4 in deep with a razor blade. I covered up with duck tape for the rest of the day and after work went to get some liquid bandage, figured I'd see how this new stuff fairs. So I'm sitting in the parking lot reading the back "for small cuts and wounds". Well not knowing what they consider small I got a good size bubble at the end of the brush and swiped it on....
 HOLY SHIT!!
This shit hurts more then when I cut myself. "Antiseptic to help prevent invection" no shit, my fingers wanted to pack up and leave town after I put it on. Good thing I got some regular band aids as back up, band-aid tough-strips "with super-stick adhesive", "fiber-reinforced, like duck tape" well it worked before. If nothing else I've still got that roll of duck tape and an aloe plant sitting outside.

I used to stitch myself up when I got a bad cut. Depending on where this cut is exactly, you can get it to heal more often than not without stitches. Basically, with a deeper cut, you just load up on the neosporin, and bandage it in such a way that the cut is held closed. A couple to three weeks like that should do the trick. Change the dressing fairly often, but make sure to wrap it enough to keep it closed as much as possible. I have healed cuts that went to the bone in my fingers like this with no problems. Just make sure to use the neosporin each time you change the wrap.

I'm not to worried about it healing, I tend to heal pretty quickly. Its already pretty much sealed shut. I just wanted to find a way to keep dirt out for a while, being a full time mechanic means lots of grease.

My thoughts right after the cut:

1. damnit!
2. I wonder if I'll need stitches
3. Crap, I hope it doesn't scar
4. Oh, blood....lots of blood

BTW, I fucked up the title, supposed to be "Skin" not kin. Big difference between shift+S and Ctrl+S

snitches? I'm sure theres enough of those here to go around.

BTW its a damn good thing I didn't go get stitched up, radio today was full of the news that the local hospital has some kind of new bacteria that isn't affected by antibiotics, and that its "potentially fatal". And by that I dont mean its in a test-tube, its in the patients
