Don't know that I like the looks of it. I imagine they're trying to differentiate it from the ps by changing the color.

I really don't care for the looks, but i'll be first in line for one. The earlier the version, the easier the mod.

I'm sure it'll come in more than one color. White doesn't mesh well with Home Theater Equipment

It's still hard to say. I'm sure this Xbox will be better than it's predecessor in every aspect.

One thing can be said for sure, the Xbox 360 will live up to it's hype, unlike the PS3, which will more than likely not live up to it's hype.

I'm not sure if you all remember all the hype behind Sony's Emotion Engine in the PS2, which claimed to be so graphically advanced and deliver breath taking graphics. Truth is, a lot of PS2 games look no better than PS1 games.

One thing is for sure, i'll never buy any Playstation product. Long Live Micro$oft.

Sony hasn't taken M$ seriously until they started to steal their marketshare. If Xbox Live wouldn't have been such a success, the Sony would have never taken a serious look at online gaming. And Sony's online gaming network has been a dismal failure, and on top of that it generates no revenue for the company.

Xbox Live generates tons of $$$ for Microsoft... M$ - 1, Sony - 0

The Xbox Hard Drive eliminated the need to buy a memory card. So in case Mom forgot to get a memory card when she bought the system, you could still actually save the game without playing it in vain on Christmas Day. Sony has an optional hard drive, which also, has been a dismal failure.

M$ -2, Sony -0

Sony does have a shitload of games, and a lot of their games are indeed crap. Not that Microsoft doesn't suffer from this, because they have some shitty titles also, but not nearly as many as Sony. Sony has a bigger library of games, but MS has just as many great games as Sony has great games.

I think M$ will have the upper hand in the next gen console war. They know what people want and they cater to their needs. While Sony just kinda sits back and watch what M$ is doing in order to emulate their ideas. The Hard Drive didn't work, the ethernet port didn't work...Hell IMO Sony looks desperate.

well i have the new ps2, the thin one and a game cube and have played xbo and i love my ps2 over all of them but if they come out with better games for the xbox i might get one

I wouldnt use the point of no memory card as an advantage for sony, becaue you have to buy the xbox dvd kit to watch movies on it, when you can do it out of the box with the ps2. Also, xbox doesn't play burned cds, which sucks.

I heard the new xbox wasn't going to have a harddrive? Is that false? Also, as far as games go, there's a few games on xbox that totally blow away all the generic crap on PS2 away, namely KOTOR 1 & 2, Fable, as of late, Jade Empire, and the Splinter Cell games originated on xbox so I don't know. PS2 just seems weak to me, I don't ever play anything on there but God of War.

True the Xbox can't play burned CD's, but how many people actually play CD's in their Xbox? Literally no one. :( And if you really wanted to play music on your console, you'd mod it, upgrade the HD, and ftp all your music, movies, etc to your Xbox. At least that's what us modders do.

The Xbox had to have a DVD kit to play DVD's, that was because Sony had the rights to playing dvd's on the console without a kit, so there wasn't much MS could do about that, until now. The Xbox 360 will be equipped with Windows Media Center and will be able to play DVD's, without a kit :)

Halo 3 will be released the same exact day of the PS3 launch. I sure hope that Halo 3 steals their thunder. It's about time for Sony to come off that throne as the console king.

I still haven't played Halo 2, been waiting to see when they're throwin it on PC.

Now now, I thought Viewtiful Joe was a very good game on Gamecube, but it's just because it's so trippy looking and I enjoy nice visuals like that. And don;t forget the new Zelda, they're moving away from the cel shaded type thing to make it a darker game I think.

Edit: Oh yeah, and Resident Evil 4, best graphics engine out right now.

Well I did have a GameCube once, and granted they do have some good games, but they cater to an entirely different audience. I found out rather quickly that I didn't fit the gaming demographic for the type of games that the GameCube had to offer.

Xbox on other hands is everywhere... in STORES while PS2's are sold out... also w/ the younger ones Ps2 seems to be of the favorite... and as far as u were saying for online gaming... everygame besides FFXI is free... on ps2 that is... no need to subsribe and users can play on 56k.. which is still believe it or not what more than 60% of the US is still useing... includeing I. and the only reason FFXI wasnt free is because that is part of PLAY-ONLINE... not sony

You're stating the obvious. The PS2 sells more because it had a fanbase already with the PS1. GM sells more cars than Toyota, but does that make GM the better car maker, in 2 words, Hell no.

PS2's aren't sold out. I've been to plenty of electronics retailers who have plenty of PS2's with dust on them.

As I stated before, yes Sony's Online Gaming system is free, but it is a failure with it's online gaming community. Xbox Live generates profit, Sony's online service is just....there.

60% of America may still be using narrowband for net access, but that is changing dramatically.

And how can you play via 56k? Even if you can, hell it wouldn't be worth it. I have a hard time somedays playing Halo 2 on my 3 Mbps connection at home.

The next gen PS is already a year behind the Xbox 360. By the time the next gen PS is released, M$ will already have a strong grip on the console marketshare.
