Vert8813B 09-12-2008, 03:21 PM What do you want to do? I'm 90 miles north of NYC. I recommend touring the Brooklyn Brewery and Heineken Bottling facility in White Plains, NY..but then again I love beer. See if you can take a tour of Yankee stadium. If you go to a 7 PM game, get at Gate 2 (iirc) around 3 PM to meet players. If you go to a 1 PM game, it is usually around 11 AM. I like the Museum of Natural History myself. Also, get directions from Yankee Stadium to the White Castle on 149th street. That is a must stop. I also recommend visiting Strawberry Fields and The Dakota (building where John Lennon lived and was shot in front of and Yoko Ono currently lives.) If you want anything else or something in particular, let me know. Also, the ESPN Zone has an AWESOME restaurant, and LCD TVs in front of every urinal. The city gets a bad rap, but I love it. barneymcveigh 09-15-2008, 02:26 PM thanks for the info . barneymcveigh 09-15-2008, 02:40 PM oh and another question what times during the day do they stop selling alcohol? here in california its 2am-6 am wotnartd 09-15-2008, 02:46 PM Are you talking bars or stores? barneymcveigh 09-15-2008, 02:59 PM well in california alcohol sales stop from 2am-6am regardless of where your trying to buy it. i looked into new york city laws and saw that you cant be served beer from 4am-8am (at a bar, restauraunt etc.) but i can go to the store and buy beer 24 hours a day 7 days a week. is this correct? Didn't you hear? :bigthumb: Vert8813B 09-15-2008, 04:24 PM well in california alcohol sales stop from 2am-6am regardless of where your trying to buy it. i looked into new york city laws and saw that you cant be served beer from 4am-8am (at a bar, restauraunt etc.) but i can go to the store and buy beer 24 hours a day 7 days a week. is this correct? No. We have Blue Laws here. No sales on Sunday until after Noon. Also, Stores will not sell after 2 or 3 AM on Sunday until Noon. I guess 2 or 3 AM - Noon on Sundays is no good. I just buy early though and don't have a problem. If you make your way upstate, let me know and I will show you the local sites. |
