Better get some power upgrades. 1 sticker alone will cost you .5 on your 0-60.

Handle wonderfully, but damn do they need a boost in power.

My FC-S will own the power department if I can ever get the megasquirt to work with ignition.

You haven't lived until you attempt to scratch-build a VR conditioner circuit and wire it up to your car.

A clean stock first gen would be fun, not fast, although fast is fun too.

Yup i can verify it not being fast...but it handles amazing for being 20 yrs. old. I am thinking about trying to get a 12A T engine....they just drop right in!!! Turbo baby!!! it still wont be that fast but she will have more of a kick!!!

actually im a little surprised the FB hasn't picked up in popularity. lightweight, rwd, etc... same reason why all the other old ass rwd cars are picking up in popularity right now.

you guys should be glad that takumi drove an 86 instead of a FB rx-7.

FD values have been dropping on ebay but getting a good clean FC for 1000 like you could a few years ago is no longer that likely. Clean first gens seem to have held solid at a few thousand for a really good GS. Pristine GSL-SE's, as always, have brought auctions ending at 5000+.

There was a paxton supercharged S5 vert that ended at 7000 last week (pianoprodigy's car, on the RX forum). Nice setup but the centrifugal chargers don't really help the NA wankel's low end and midrange torque deficiency.

There are a couple fast V8 FC's listed right now, both have auto trannies though.

I am thinking about trying to get a 12A T engine....they just drop right in!!!

Actually in stock form the SA/FB handles like ass. Shit poor front camber setup, terrible rear axle location and stupid soft springs/shocks make for a car that understeers like a pig until it snaps to oversteer with little room for correction. It doesn't take much to improve things somewhat, but 1st gens need A LOT of work to make them handle with any sort of confidence.

oh cool i stand corrected....i know you know your 1st gen stuff extremely well! But i probably just love my FB to death that i find no flaws in her besides the fact that she is butt slow!!

i cant believe piano sold both his 7s...for a Z06...booo!

Z06 is a better car in most any way compared to any gen 7, it's a fact. He's a thinking man. :)
