I put a couple hundred miles on the bike last weekend and had people pull out in front of me TWICE. (one was a very close call in my book) Both times the perps were black folk.

I attributed this to my steriotype about black people being bad drivers, but I have a friend who insists there is a possibility that perhaps these bitch ass niggars can't see me!

I dunno, maybe you were driving with the sun behind you? All those UV rays might have made your pale skin almost invisible to the naked eye...

But to give a serious answer to your question, I really don't know. I have that same problem with black folk and others in the area. It pisses me off to no end when I'm trying to make a turn at an intersection and they take their goddamn time crossing. Worse yet is when they do it when the no-crossing sign is on, and they have the nerve to look at me with an attitude while I wait for them to move their asses.

That last sentance is the answer. I have the same problem with some blacks in some parts of LA, and some white trash and urban indians in Saskatoon. It's not racial, but a symptom, I believe, of low education and ghetto culture.

All I ever see black folk on sports bikes do in my area are cutting through traffic inbetween cars and pulling wheelies in traffic.

Every time I see it, I secretly hope one of them pulls back just a bit too hard. lol, I'm a fan of speeding on public streets and all, but only in ideal conditions. Some of the shit I've seen is just over-the-line reckless..

Some dickhead in an Acura RL almost hit me today in the Civic... I instinctively honked the horn. (Dumbass move. I shoulda made him buy me a new car.)

Anyhow... He kept giving me looks down the road and rolled down his window... So I decided to roll mine down.

Upon pulling up to a stop sign in the two lane road we were on, he said, "Got something to say to me?"

I said, "Yeah... See that striped white line on the road, stay on your side of it... If you're gonna change lanes, you have shiny things attached to your doors and a pair of yellow blinking lights on the rear of your car actuated conveniently by the stalk to the left of your steering wheel."

He said, "Don't ride in people's blind spots. If you're gonna pass, pass, if not, stay back."

I was passing, if he wasn't about to slam into the side of me, I wouldn'taa hit the brakes... Besides, I wasn't aware a four door sedan had blind spots... And even then, you're supposed to check over your shoulder before making a lane change, which he wasn't... because of the lack of turn signals... At least logic would dictate that he'd be using the signals... And who am I to demand logic...

Yes, he was black. There was no fried chicken or watermellon involved...



Which begs the question... If anyone were wearing the helmets above, the watermellon half or the chicken bucket, would that reduce or increase the number of wrecks? Wouldn't they be trying to get at the contents of your helmet at all costs, the easiest way being to knock you over?

Don't you guys hate it when people want to pass you on local two way roads? Say you're going 35 on a 30 MPH speed limit (busy) local road with stop lights every block. They creep on your ass and step on the yellow line looking for a chance to floor it and pass you. But don't you guys love it when they start making their move to pass you and you spot them in the mirror and you give your car a little gas so they have almost no chance of passing you without hitting someone head on? Ah... Yes.
