Yupp, had it for a while now. All in all, not a bad remix CD, but not his best. Definately worth a listen though, especially the track God Given.

The song is from the concept album Year Zero. The song itself is sung from a perspective that fits into the concept of the album (which is in a nutshell, about the advent of the apocalypse), not necessarily Trent's.

God Given is amazing.

I've always taken it from the stance of a Papal position. Not necessarily of a Pope, but a "figurehead" of the community in which this takes place. The downward spiral of humanity, in so many words. The hate. The lies/misinformation.

Hmmm, Vessel is definately sung from that position, where some religious leader is hoping that the end of the world will happen soon. I've always thought that God Given was sung by a political figure, like Capital G, only one that is using religion to spur on their racism. Maybe not though.

Trent is incredibly warped, which is why I avoid his toxic "music"

I certainly wouldn't jump to that conclusion. I think he tends to believe that they are the one's ruling the country though. He seems pretty guarded with respect to his spiritual beliefs.

Again, the Downward Spiral is another concept album. It chronicles one man's decline into suicide, hence the title. No one really knows if that is how he feels or not.

True, but if you were to compare him to someone like Marilyn Manson, where virtually every one of his songs is about the "false Christ-God" he isn't that bad.

He produced Manson's only good album, Anti-Christ Superstar (I know, I know). You can really hear Trent's influence musically. Lyrically it's all Manson (so naturally it's shit).
