It's 98deg in the shade, high humidity and been like this all weekend.
I've been trying to lay out the design phase of a stone walkway today, heaving some rocks as heavy as 175lbs around.
I've had to shower and change twice already, my piss is the color of cheddar cheese and I've drank at least a gallon and a half of water.
F*%K this shit. I'm quitting and switching to Budweiser effective right now.
Supper 08-14-2005, 04:55 PM shower twice?

No. Cool down showers. You prairie dogs have no f-ing clue what 98deg and 90% humidity will do to a body.
Two words- HEAT STROKE.

'Specially to an old fart like yourself... ;)
Tell me about it.
I hate to say this but being 38 feels a lot different than 28, period. I don't give a damn what anyone says about "Ohhh- you're only as old as you feel.. You're not oooollld."
Screw you. I can't lift a 175 lb rock as easily (or as far) as I used to. And this heat is getting to me. Believe me- I can take the cold A-N-Y-D-A-M-N day of the week over this crap.
I want ma beer and a backrub, dammit.

2ndGen.Rocket 08-15-2005, 02:24 AM No he's not lying. When it's 98 out and so fucking humid that you can see it in the air, it is just miserable. Not to mention a breeze just doesn't exist down here.
Let me tell you how depressing it is to roll your window down on the highway in the afternoon, stick your hand out, and just feel hot fucking air blowing on you.
Ultralights 08-15-2005, 02:44 AM 98? tis a mild wnters day!

RedR1 08-15-2005, 08:42 AM Today it's supposed to get to 99 with a heat index of 109 :( Glad im not out digging ditches, my AC loving ass would die of heat stroke!
BATMAN 08-15-2005, 08:50 AM Areas with heat and humidity are cheaper places to live on the average than The SF Bay Area where it's mild year round with little humidity.
Hence the higher real estate prices that most of ya'll keep complaining about.

It's not that big of a driver on values. Look at Atlanta, Charleston S.C., metro areas of TX, Wash D.C... The median price of a home in my area is quickly approaching 300K..
meddle 08-15-2005, 09:53 AM A storm finally came through and cooled things off here from 2 solid weeks of 100+ heat index. I had the heat on on the way to wrok this morning.
Hades12 08-15-2005, 11:00 AM my piss is the color of cheddar cheese and I've drank at least a gallon and a half of water.
Drink one or two of the 8oz single serve Peadilite's they come in a 4 pack at the wall mart. I drink 4 oz of them each time I go in for water. Really helps with the dehyration. I get the red ones, They dont taste so bad, but they are not good eaither.
RB240 08-15-2005, 01:17 PM I like to sweat.

Yeah. Not a bad idea.
I'll mix pedialite with some ensure and a jigger of vodka for a geriatric cocktail. I'll call this drink the 'heat stroke tonic'.
