Holy crap, that's just wrong. I think I change 90% of my son's diapers. She fed him, I changed him.

That turned out to backfire though, since she breastfed. All she had to do was lay there.

I should clarify, I change the diapers when I was home. She was home with the baby all day and at night when I had class, so it was my way of alleviating her of her duties during the day.'

Sorry I have to correct you on this, but its not just 18 years...its a lifetime commitment. Just because someone turns 18 doenst mean you should shove them out the door.

I think that you should work on expecting good things out of life, not waiting for the bad. Happiness is not something you achieve, its something that occurs in between the bad times....unless you are a freak and like being miserable.

As for the doom and gloom attitude, sit back and reflect on how much wasted thought that type of thinking is.

Expect good things in life to occur, trust me it will change your whole outcome in life. Even after a few short months of thinking positive like this, you will notice a difference in the quality of your life.

Think about this, it wasn't until the 1950 was there antibiotics. less than 60 years ago. And, according to my grandpa on the farm, almost everyone that had an appendicitis died from it. You actually think that going back 100 years is actually better? What about in Christs time when the romans crucified people...how far back do you have to go to where things where not 'perilous' or you didn't have to live in a tent...or sacrifice livestock to God....fact is that non perilous time has never happened, its the true nature of the world.



and the challenge of raising a kid who turns out right with all the negative stuff competing for your kid's attention (TV, internet, peers, whatever) can be a real challenge, plus that, with most couples, both parents work (and that's a whole different topic itself)...

Really? There is always going to be something to negatively influence kids....no matter what the time period is. Its your job as a parent to make sure that they are not influenced in this way. Regardless of your family structure, some elder is going to be around....if not, and the kid goes on a crime spree then the government gets involved....that will shape them up or they'll live in jail for their whole life.
