quit racing stock civics...its needless wear-n-tear on ur car.. :dunno: how bad did it overheat? im not sure what the temp. gauge is like in a new beetle...was it full? like to the top? if then, i guess just check the rad. and coolant, etc..

it wasnt a comp. stock civic... he was a real ricer tho!! hahaha but the lil red thermostat came on like a mile from my house and it flashed for a few moments then went off and came back on like 20 sec. later

If you don't have any coolant leaks, then you need to completely bleed your system b/c of air pockets. I had to do that to my car just last week. It may be possible to just bleed the air valve near the thermostat(at least that's where mine is) and bleed all the air out of your cooling system. But if you don't have any leaks in your system, air is the problem...unless you have a bad water pump that isn't leaking, and that's kinda unlikely.

Runnin' hot is no fun. Last summer my car had a bad radiator, bad water pump, and a hose blew out on me all in one night on a date. Talk about bad luck...what made it even worse, my heater core was bad also. Coolant leaked all in the f*cking car. I pretty much revamped my entire cooling system. Now, she never runs hot :)

Anyway, bleed the system, refill it, and that should take care of it. If you haven't replaced your coolant in a while, it's about time anyway.
