jhammons01 07-28-2005, 04:48 PM Big battle stirring....what say you? Cosby 07-28-2005, 04:50 PM How about the people that pay $3,000,000 a lot and don't want dirty poor people in front of their $9,000,000 house? maniacmikey 07-28-2005, 04:51 PM well here in oregon nobody owns the beaches. we have an open access law. maniacmikey 07-28-2005, 04:53 PM and if you can afford 3 million for a lot you can afford to hang a poor person in front of your property to scare off the riff raff. RedR1 07-28-2005, 04:54 PM Someone's been watching a lil too much Super Troopers :D jhammons01 07-28-2005, 04:54 PM ahhh good start. The high water line changes yearly, What if the high water mark goes way out does the $9m home get more property? what if the beach sand shifts, why is it the Counties responsibility to A. make a jetty B. move sand around to protect homes Cosby 07-28-2005, 06:32 PM It isn't the county's responsibility in a lot of areas. Most gated beach front communities spend millions of dollars raised by dues and private taxes to dredge and reshape the beach front every few years. The county isn't responsible for making a pretty beach front but if you spend millions of dollars bringing in that sand why the hell should free loaders plop down and leave trash all over it. I'd stand on my balcony with a pellet gun... jhammons01 07-28-2005, 06:38 PM AAAHHHH the truth be told!!! You're a beach front porperty owner!!! Being one of the mods and and beach front property owner you now have to recuse yourself from this thread HAHAHAHAHAHAAHA I am only kidding about the recuse thingy The property line has to be defined. The waterway and oceans cannot be owned. If I anchor my boat off of your shore during high tide....which I have every right to do. Then the tide goes out and my boat is beached for a few hours at low tide. Am I now parking my boat on your land? Supper 07-28-2005, 06:41 PM Actually, if you want to get into it beyond the "laws' of humans... no man can "own" land. We can merely occupy our little patch and move on for someone else to take our place. what is it the natives used to say "Only the rocks and the wind last for ever, today is a good day to die" or something along those lines. Supper 07-28-2005, 06:58 PM Not here in West By God Virginia. (Hums to the tune This land is your land) I'll be laughing when your dead and the next "owner" comes in to take his turn. and with that said... I wish I could afford to buy myself a plot of land here in Wyo. POS7 07-30-2005, 08:21 AM :swords: uscmatt 07-30-2005, 05:30 PM I stayed at a house with a private beach in myrtle beach a week ago. The deal was that the actual beach property was owned by the property owner of the house, the public was free to walk across it, but couldnt set up camp there. Queen 07-30-2005, 05:40 PM the way i see it.. the beach is no different than a yard. if you buy the house and land, you own that section of the beach.. if you can own land anywhere else in the world, why should a patch of sand be excluded from that oodlesofnoodles 07-30-2005, 05:42 PM Well at one of my beach houses in miami, I have put quality fencing 20 feet into the water. Ultralights 07-30-2005, 07:31 PM I own a beachfront property here in Oz, but the the beach and a few metres past the end of the sand are public lands. our property actually starts about 10 mtes back from the sand. Ghettostamps 07-30-2005, 07:54 PM It's God's water...she can save me.. a2z 08-01-2005, 01:10 PM he government owns the land you just get to pay for it the rest of your life. |
