Taxes on my Cavalier is about $80 now.

Taxes on my Prelude were $20. I rolled the odometer up to 400,000 miles for the high mileage discount :D

Yours all seem low. Laswt year, I paid on my 1993, 1987, rx7s and my accord, it was like $1200.

Maybe missouri has a higher rate. I'm pretty shure it was $1200, have to check my records.

Ummm,can I assume that you have an 05 Accord V6, and it cost $26,000 and your taxes are 5%???

I know i'm going out on a limb there, but $1200 for 2 old ass cars and a 19xx/200x? Accord?

Sounds like Washington's (previously) fucked-up licensing fees.

The last time I licensed my FD in April of '98, I paid over $800 for tabs. The last time I drove the car was May of '98, so I paid $800-something for a month and a half of legal driving. My Supra was $900+, and I paid over $1,300 for the first year's tabs on my Z06. Now I pay $65 no matter what car I drive. Thank God for Tim Eiman.

registration for vehicles here are pretty cheap compared to most states 65 for cars and 72 and up for trucks depending on the weight

You forgot the first step in the process as well... The money you are paying with has already been taxed for earning it.

So, let's say you are charged roughly 30% income tax (that includes social security, federal, state, etc), then are charged oh, 5% when you buy something... And then you are charged property tax of what, 1 1/2% and other fees, they are really screwing you.

I don't even have a full time job now that i'm in school. I usually only work 25 hours a week, and again.. i'm going to school..and for some fucked up reason 25% of paycheck is gone to taxes.

I see they raised the rates. When I moved to Washington for graduate school it was $780 to register my Explorer (my ass still hurts from that). When I left it was a flat $33. :)

It's $65 now? About on par with Tx. IIRC it was ~$20 for my state inspection sticker and $35 for my registration. This year we add smog (and another $16).

To register vehicles in Virginia...

You must pay a % of sales tax but you don't have to provide a bill of sale.

So it's always a gift or cheap for me.


Then, you have to pay for the registration/plates which is like $35 a year.
Then inspection, no smog or anything though.
