It was a nice bird. Thanks! Most of my experience is with farm raised birds on the east coast. These wild ones are a whole different ball game. They take off so much faster it's unbelievable. Shot that one twice before he hit the ground.

I forgot how bad my shotgun beats up on me until last weekend. I think i'll buy my uncles 20 gauge for the rabbits, no need to blast them with the 12.

Shotguns still kick like a mule. 2.75" kick harder than my .30-06. 3" get into .40 caliber rifle range, and 3.5 magnums get into elephant gun range, i.e. they don't recommend yo fire more tahn a few, unless you WANT to develop a flinch.

Get back out there YZF. I've been preoccupied with other shit the past few years and haven't gone after anything. Really forgot how much fun it was. Took this last trip with an old friend from high school and had a blast.

There's really no point is tearing up upland birds with 3'' mags IMO. Better suited to ducks and geese etc.... I've had great luck with 2'' shells with 1oz of 7shot for quail and such. pattern beautifully. Used 2 3/4 on this trip though

You need an automatic and a squishy butt pad.

I've got a Win. 1300 turkey gun, 22" bbl. And I don't need a magazine shortener in this state so it holds 4 rounds, plenty for hunting. Light as hell too, which doesn't help with the recoil.

Oh man, would have bagged out limit every day if we'd had a good dawg.

Instead we had my buddies useless 8mo old lab (you can kinda see in the first pic) just fucking around out there. flushing birds 50 yards ahead of us and for the most part.....

Ended up finally getting one with a scoped .22 ........ Not very sporting but they where driving me NUTS!!
